The example I heard about from a dem organiser was about a focus group of POC voters who openly acknowledged Trump was a racist, but just felt the economy was better for them during the Trump years. This of course might well be true e.g low interest rates, less pressure on rental prices etc So it is an example of low info voters who could be persuaded to vote dem and don't like trump. This is where most of the campaign action is as Trump is 10 points underwater on fav/unfav
This is the part of the argument that frustrates me. The pandemic was likely allowed to grow in severity because of Trumps disbandment of the group set up to prevent such things, which was started by Bush, but enhanced by Obama. He wouldn't even take a transition briefing from them. Now, we don't know how bad the pandemic would have been if that group/plan had been in place, but it surely would not have been as severe. At least in the US.
All Trump's plans for the economy are inflationary or disruptive. Tariffs will increase prices. Banning food imports will increase prices. Capping credit card interests at 10% will disrupt the markets. Allowing insurers to choose who they insure will create disparities in coverage that will lead to higher prices for those with higher risk.
Will you accept higher inflation to pwn the Wok3? Unearthed video: JD Vance says he wants Americans to pay more for groceries, clothes, and other basic necessities in order to combat “woke”: “We're gonna have to get a little uncomfortable. We’re maybe gonna have to be willing to pay a little bit more for certain consumer goods” pic.twitter.com/LOjTWPmEtX— Kamala HQ (@KamalaHQ) September 19, 2024
ah thanks for that. I read "Yet that state of detente may be set to unravel. The Maine legislature has now gone out of session," and assumed the recall was no longer an option.
I don't know if any of you follow this group or not, but Trump getting elected could have much more far-reaching consequences. https://www.citizensforethics.org/ They are showing how Trump loyalists in positions of authority in certain states are planning to disrupt the certification of the election should Trump lose.
“They didn’t correct her once and they corrected me, everything I said practically… and the audience went absolutely crazy.” — Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, about his debate with Kamala Harris which had no audience.
Apparently Robinson is going to drop out of the NC governor race: Some major drama is shaking out in NC's gubernatorial race. Sources tell me a CNN story is forthcoming. Robinson's two campaign events today in Vance and Warren counties have been cancelled. Robinson's closest advisers & Robinson himself aren't taking my calls for comment. #ncpol— Bryan Anderson (@BryanRAnderson) September 19, 2024
Absentee ballots in NC go out tomorrow lol Also this just seems like pretty standard Republican nonsense these days. There has to be more? Campaign consultant for Mark Robinson’s NC campaign says CNN’s bombshell story on him will contain allegations he called himself a “black nazi” and made racist & anti-semitic comments about MLK Jr and Jews in 2009 message board post:https://t.co/tlR3bRkzne— Ross O'Keefe (@RossOKeefe2) September 19, 2024
He is cooked.....Stick a fork in him! North Carolina Republicans are bracing Thursday morning as word spreads about a damning news story looming regarding Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson,” the Carolina Journal reports. “Sources with direct knowledge have spoken with Carolina Journal on the condition of anonymity and said that Robinson is under pressure from staff and members of the Trump campaign to withdraw from the governor’s race due to the nature of the story, which they say involves activity on adult websites in 2000s.” “Thursday evening is the state deadline to withdraw from the race. The deadline to remove Robinson’s name from the ballot already has passed.” Audrey Fahlberg: “The article focuses on unsavory comments Robinson made in several online chatrooms… If what I’m hearing is correct, this story will nuke Robinson’s already dwindling chances of flipping termed-out Democratic governor Roy Cooper’s seat.” Bryan Anderson: “Robinson cancelled two campaign events on Thursday scheduled for Vance and Warren counties. The move came in anticipation of a forthcoming CNN story.”
You know it's bad if the Trump campaign is urging you to drop out. Thing is, it's not really about Robinson's behavior. It's that he was such a dipshit in not covering up his activities and, well, that he's not Donald Trump. Trump paid hush money to a porn star he was having a affair with, for God's sake. He's on tape saying he thinks it's okay for him to grab women by the.. you know what. He hosted Nick Fuentes for dinner at Mar-a-lago and pals around with Laura Loomer.
Didn't that guy already have nazi jew hate scandals? So many republicans indulge in neo nazi jew hate these days i lost track
He’s a piece of work..: #BREAKING: Source familiar w/ forthcoming CNN story says revelations about Robinson include him saying things in online chats about liking transgender porn, peeping inside women’s locker rooms while he studied at NC A&T and wanting to own slaves. #ncpol https://t.co/tQsp3uj4vr— Bryan Anderson (@BryanRAnderson) September 19, 2024
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Robinson_(American_politician)#Antisemitic_remarks That section and his "Holocaust denial" section are a combined 432 words long.
He’s on his way to losing and this makes it worse, plus since NC is a key state in this race, and we don’t have a Senate race that would also drive turnout for the whole state, that might be a factor. Bad news will cripple the state GOP’s enthusiasm, ergo it’s GOTV, ergo that hurts Trump. Just a theory. Or maybe being an ex Nazi is a bigger factor because his opponent is Jewish. (According to Wikipedia he attends Temple Beth Or, which is where a lot of the folks around here who are lefty activists go, whenever something pops up in the news.) Or maybe it’s something worse.
