He and everyone else involved with the US government's authorization of torture should be sitting in a dark cell in The Hague.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump in the presidential race among registered voters, 47% to 42%, increasing her advantage after a debate against the former president that voters largely think she won.
Tucson native Linda Ronstadt has some choice comments on Trump. “Donald Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in a rented hall in my hometown, Tucson. I would prefer to ignore that sad fact. But since the building has my name on it, I need to say something..” “It saddens me to see the former president bring his hate show to Tucson, a town with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful, tolerant spirit. I don’t just deplore his toxic politics, his hatred of women, immigrants and people of color, his criminality, dishonesty and ignorance – although there’s that.” …. “Trump first ran for president warning about rapists coming in from Mexico. I’m worried about keeping the rapist out of the White House.” Full statement: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GXRxJJ4WMAA2Lq0?format=jpg&name=large
“Twice this past summer, Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J. has featured speeches from a rioter convicted of participating in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, who has a well-documented history of extreme antisemitic and racist rants,” NPR reports.
Assuming the 2 point bump is real (big assumption) that’s terrific this soon. Pundits who looked at past data have been saying that the “debate bump” usually takes a while. It’s not an overnight thing. The argument is that the debate has less effect itself than the media narrative about the debate, and that narrative develops more slowly. I wanna see a poll that runs from next Monday through Wednesday or Thursday. Give everyone the weekend to, I dunno, check out their Facebook pages and TikToks and what not. If those pundits are right, Harris might be up 8 points then, and THAT will change the narrative.
Here's another post-debate poll (The Times/YouGov). For apples to apples, their previous poll (July 25) had Harris -2, but now she is +1. Looking through the actual questions and responses is rather interesting. Comparing questions 45 and 46 is rather depressing, however.
Who wants to tell them? JD Vance on CNBC says that if immigration was the path to prosperity, then "America would be the most prosperous country in the world." (Who wants to tell him ... ) pic.twitter.com/XY9RDUlvjo— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) September 12, 2024
I was curious about the next Trump rally… the “windmill, hannibal lecter, people bored and leaving” thing will mess with his mind… its like telling a speaker they have too many “crutch” words… that and seeing anyone leave will make him more self conscious.. plus him yelling at someone to sit back down was likely
Well, in the Arizona speech (which he said Pennsylvania) he doubled down on the pet eating and added the whole “your kids are getting their gender changed in school” bit… so hes right back on full display.. even acting as if hes going against Biden
Hmm, I wonder if eating dogs causes a gender change. Someone might want to suggest that to him so that he can "weave" his insane conspiracy theories into one big one.
I have one, simple basic question for local TV news, local newspapers, network news, and shows like Today and GMA. Why won’t you show things like this? Why do you sanewash this maniac and cover for him? pic.twitter.com/1IqIB84PHG— Ron Filipkowski (@RonFilipkowski) September 12, 2024
Yeah, Trump downsized from a 6,000 seat to a 2,000 seat venue in Tucson. I don’t know if 550 is accurate, but it wasn’t packed. Meanwhile, Harris held two, packed rallies in NC yesterday: about 17,000 in Greensboro and 7,500 earlier in the day in Charlotte. Walz held a rally at a museum in Grand Rapids yesterday. The only attendance reference I saw said it was in the “hundreds.” So, probably at least as big as Trump’s. This is beginning to sound like the MLS attendance thread. If Trump’s rally numbers don’t pick up, we might be forced to considering a “relocation or relegation” thread for him.
Convince a certain sub-set of BS posters of that. In any event, relocation is clearly the ideal option in this case: North Korea, Hungary, Russia, in no particular order, would be more appropriate locations.
He's be talking up Venezuela a lot. Maybe he likes the weather there more than the places you mentioned. He's a Florida guy, after all.
