Ron DeSantis has ordered flags at half mast in Florida due to Rush Limbaugh's death.

Trust me, it fits here, not in the famous dead people thread.

The DNC is starting to do oppo research on potential 2024 GOP nominees. Among their targets: Mike Lindell.

I would be delighted if Lindell was the nominee. Partly because that would mean that Donald J. Trump was dead.

They just need to watch the Jimmy Kimmel Show from the past few months, especially Lindell's appearance last week.

They speak openly about Lindell's crack addiction, conspiracy lunacy and he demonstrated his abject stupidity.

Oh, wait, does all of this mean he is the frontrunner?!?

This just occurred to me. Since 1988, Republicans have nominated Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney, Trump, Trump. 7 of those 9 are words in English.

For the Dems, you only have Gore in 2000. I’m not counting Kerry, a homonym.

I think at the time I would have taken the under on 1 percent. Which helps explain why I don't bet.

Maybe not for 2024, but this guy is a smarter Trump.

So his presidency will be dangerous.

This is a state governor's poll.
It was a poll of 605 people with a 4% margin of error. It is hardly dispositive of the issue.

Also, it has nothing to do with the presidency.

Finally, I really do not know if he is a "smarter" Tr*mp. Maybe "smarter" in so far as he can ram through his stupid agenda, which Tr*mp (fortunately) could not.

@American Brummie if you had to pick, who would you say will win the governorship of Florida?

This is not a good poll:

The Chamber notably did not release full results, so it’s unclear if DeSantis polled above 50%. But pollsters say he would hold a 10-percentage-point lead over Fried if the race were between the Governor and Florida’s only Democrat holding statewide office

Sadly, that doesn’t mean he’s not going to win. Although he won by 34k votes, meaning it was narrow, I don’t hold my hopes high for democrats in our state. Also, the Geezers Orgies Party has been energized with all the bigotry, racism and xenophobia that they can now fully display in the open.

While the midterms are looking bad, 2024 may be ok.

    Still a lifetime away.

The faster we hit a repression so inflation comes down (we need a global one), the better chance Biden will have to recover.

Obviously after January when Republicans take over the house of reps and maybe the Senate, Biden won't be able to do much outside foreign policy or some executive orders.

Well 80% of the time or so, being the incumbent has its privileges.

But sometimes shit happens that is out of their control and they get punished for it.
