guys sorry i'm late. but i looked at the results and it had Biden and Trump as the top 2 candidates. So some people got it wrong. Biden at 34 votes and Trump at 26 votes
guys how do you feel that kamala was handed the nomination? look how much more battle tested trump is. #1) he was already president 2) he's been pummpled with lawsuits and has emerged like a pheonix from the ashes 3) he was nominated in a democratic primary by his party and 4) he's doing a lot of interviews! None of these apply to Kamala! She better step it up!
Former Rep. Liz Cheney says she will vote for Kamala Harris | AP News “As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this. Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.” -Liz Cheney John McCain's son endorses Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in Election (usatoday.com) 238 former aids to Republican presidential nominees endorse Kamala Harris "...At home, another four years of Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership, this time focused on advancing the dangerous goals of Project 2025, will hurt real, everyday people and weaken our sacred institutions. Abroad, democratic movements will be irreparably jeopardized as Trump and his acolyte JD Vance kowtow to dictators like Vladimir Putin while turning their backs on our allies. We can’t let that happen. We know now, thanks to exit polling and voter data, that it was moderate Republicans and conservative independents in key swing states that ultimately delivered the presidency to Joe Biden—honest, hardworking Americans in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, and beyond that put country far before party. We’re heartfully calling on these friends, colleagues, neighbors, and family members to take a brave stand once more, to vote for leaders that will strive for consensus, not chaos; that will work to unite, not divide; that will make our country and our children proud. Those leaders are Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz." Bush, McCain, and Romney Alumni for Harris Statement (documentcloud.org)
Yeah, and for some unknowable reason you want a repeat of that. He has sued and been sued over 4,000 times. That's not a good trait - it means many many people have a serious problem with the way Trump operates his business and his life and Trump prefers to handle things in ways where his wealth and fame have a benefit. He loves being in court. Republicans said Biden was too old. So he finally said they're right I won't run again. You got what you wanted. Why are you crying about it? Where and to who?
Same with McCain. Hell, I even have a soft spot for Mitt. Sorta. I watched Kinzinger’s segment on Kimmel’s show. He’d be a solid secretary of veterans affairs. I think of these people, who’ve shown some backbone and true patriotism. Then I think of Cassidy Hutchinson, who had everything to risk by giving testimony to the Jan 6 Committee. Then there’s the ocean of sycophants who know better, but don’t have the balls to stand up and drag down the orange fascist..
If Mitt had ran in 2012 as the centrist who governed Massachusetts and got a useful healthcare system passed, I would have thought about voting for him. But as the “severely conservative” guy who admitted that most of the country would not have enough taxes to benefit from his cuts, so I didn’t have to think about it after that.
McCain in 2000 and Mitt in 2008 would have been quite tolerable candidates. McCain in 2008 and Mitt in 2012 were….. not great. Crazy how fast our politics shifted.
Every time my mom points out what Liz Cheney did for Dems or said about supporting Dems or how good she was on the J6 committee, I say that, adding "and her belief in democracy."
I want to take this statement separately because it's important. No one talks like this unless they are caught up in a cult of personality. You like the guy and how he makes you feel and actual issues and ideologies don't matter. You trust him and want to be part of this great project he's preaching. As an unwilling student of autocracies due to the Ukraine War, I find your version of following pretty common actually. It's probably just human nature. Can't argue with a confident man, as they say, and who would want to. There's certainly people willing to fight for Trump, as has been proven. There are people that say they will die for Trump and I believe them. I wouldn't die for Harris. I wouldn't even get a paper cut for Harris. But if Harris wanted something from me, I would trust that she would make a case based on the benefit to broader society and empathy to others. When Trump hears people say they will fight for him, what Trump thinks is "that sounds useful to me". Because he will use people who think like that. To make him richer. To keep him out of jail. To get him into office. But most of all because he can. I don't think you understand how dangerous a guy Trump is. He isn't the guy to be satisfied with title, with the claim of power; he has to prove it by doing it. The only power to Trump is actualized power. He walked into the dressing room at the Miss Teen USA pageant because you don't really know if you can until you do, and he had to do. The reason he's in so many court cases is that he will push every issue as far as he can. Even if it's futile and he loses more money than settling out of court. Especially when it's futile and he loses more money than settling out of court. And now you are arguing to give this guy the most powerful desk in the world without any of the things that held him back the first time (like the chance at a second term, or a cabinet full of ideologues instead of sycophants, or an executive branch made up of professionals). He's going to take this chance and push it as far as he can. Because that's what he does. I don't know who you are. You would probably make it through all that just fine. There's plenty of people in Russia or Hungary or even North Korea that are having a great life. But there's plenty that don't. And all those people in Russia or Hungary or North Korea are just one bad day from being on the wrong side of the us-them divide.
I love this. I love your writing. Don’t stop. But puh-lease! erase the user ID part of the quote function.

I'm only voting for him becuase the Devil said my mom sleeps with boat people and that really hurt my feelings. So this is my way of getting back at him. Because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So now Donald is my friend. No one is perfect. We have to accept their flaws, and balance that against the other things they bring to the table. Biden gave Iran all that money back and Iran gave some to Hamas. And now look where we are. So messed up! The Dems do a lot of dumb things! Now they are giving billions to Urkaine while our own citizens live in squalor! So it is clear that the Dems dont' know how to run a country.
by lawsuits you know what i mean. i mean how the dems are using the courts as a political weapon. very messed up. like that DA Bragg who didn't even have real case. They are basically just trying to wear him down. But it didn't work. The Dems did a lot of bad things too. Biden's son was on the board of a Urkrainian company and that's not a conspricay theory. And he sold his dad's access. Both sides do bad things. Now we must reduce spending. I like that guy from Argentina who cut the hell out of govt. he all these various government departments like the Dept of Culture. what do u think of that spejic The govt is supposed to work for the people not the other way around. I'm saying its bad for Kamala because she isn't primed whereas donald is primed. He's done a ton of interviews. more than i can watch. with the Assoc of Black Journalists. with Lex Fridman with Dr Phil with Theo Von who is he not interviewing with?? what the hell is Kamala waiting for???? some honest and bipartisan advice - she'd better get out there! its really hurting her right now. Trump is seen as transparent. And Kamala is seen as scared and unsure of her policies!
on PA Pfeiffer was on John Heilemann's show and it's a pretty good overview of the race Trump has a structural advantage in PA in particular, because it has a lot of white, non-college educated, low propensity voters he can grow in to. Similar to how Harris and Dems have a lot of expansion opportunities in Georgia Biden's margin was just over 1% in PA in 2020 and under 1% in WI So it is likely PA is still somewhere in the same kind of range
I had to quote Carrville to my good friend. He is the friend that didn't care about politics until about 5 years ago. He is shocked that we right next to PA and it's so tight.
I know this is Walz and they are making a joke about Vance, but, serious question, how certain are we that JD Vance is human? I swear, every time I see a post about Vance, it's about him struggling with something that a human would be able to do. Related.. Why is Walz so good at trolling??
I would be shocked if Pete is not in the next Harris cabinet. He would fit well at Foggy Bottom as the next SOS. He could be a chief of staff as well. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in his personal capacity raised $4 million for Kamala Harris across five Northern California fundraisers yesterday alone, Politico reports.
We all love Pete in here, but I'm not convinced he'd be the guy for those jobs. SoS? Does he have any legitimate, applicable experience? Chief of Staff, well, maybe. But one of Pete's best attributes is as a spokesperson, and as far as I can recall, the president's Chief of Staff isn't very public facing. Pete is a very compelling individual, but his career progression remains unclear to me. He's only ever been elected as mayor of South Bend, IN. Politically, that's not a deep enough resume for a guy as talented as he is.
That's quite the headline. Trump doesn't seem to be "surging" to me. Rather, his polling numbers in PA have remained resilient. Which is a huge issue, of course, as so much relies on that one state.
