Normally, Democrats cannot get reporters to pay attention to it. So these demands for a “vision” for this and a vision for that and detailed policy papers on all the rest are just a bit weird. Where does this newfound interest come
    from?

Seriously, Biden would tout all his successes, and the press would be, "Yeah, but you're old." I'm generally not a fan of Marshall, but he's right in this case. The press never pays attention to Dem policy, or never pays much attention to it, but not they are crying about Harris not giving them any? And what Trump has proposed, they hardly ever question him (or Vance) on it. Such a lack of hubris.

to be fair it was a long-standing complaint of the media over the last 3 and a bit years as to how few press availabilities Biden did.

biden strategy mostly favoured informal doorstep type exchanges.

trump also did bugger all and almost all softball with wingnut media.

Harris is very good at explaining things. Good thing as well to let her present this. She is hitting her stride. The end is good too.

And when Biden did speak to the press and tout his accomplishments (which he did far less than I liked)? No, the press are not interested in how stable Biden is and what he was able to do. They want the drama they became accustomed to under Trump.

Trump and his admin had a lack of discipline and there were leaks about everything from day 1. Not so from Biden, and that seems to have effected how the press covered Biden.

That is a lawyer (prosecutor) making a closing argument to the jury: clear, concise, who is good, and who is bad, and what is the right thing to happen/do.

I was listening to something the other day that was talking about her days as a prosecutor back in San Fran. The guy said that the head of his department told all new prosecutors to go down and what Harris make closing arguments - that it was part of orientation/training.

i’m not sure that rationale can apply to the proceeding 3.5 years.

for whatever reasons Biden preferred informal exchanges and local media.

of course he has a press officer who does daily conferences including Jen Psaki.

i do agree the lack of focus on policy is dumb

Of course Harris will do a full sit down before too long. but she hasn’t had a much of a chance to road test her ‘stump speech’ compared to someone who had been through a full primary.

one way Kamala could make Trumps cognition a national story is if she personally commented on it.

wonder if she will do it?

PSA had more of the slurring today and it was dramatic. did he have dentures out or something?

It could be new dentures/implants. My dad slurred quite a bit for a few weeks after he got his new teeth. It takes some time for the tongue to get used to the new fixtures in the mouth.

That's better than what I can do currently. But I haven't ran consistently since 2018. First half marathon I did I ran it in an hour and 40 minutes.

Guaranteed I can be close to my best if I hit up my old cross-country coach. Won't be running sub 5s but I'd be in the best shape of my life.
