Elon Musk tried to interview Donald Trump on X but the livestream failed due to massive technical problems.
Musk later said the interview would proceed “with a smaller number of concurrent listeners” and be posted later.

Thanks to Musk, whenever I picture a Republican using a phone I imagine someone banging on the receiver and yelling "Operator! Operator! get me Klondike 51237!".

Harris Walz campaign put out a statement on the interview. It's pretty good. I can't find a link so imma type it in.
    ---
Statement on Donald Trump's Interview with Elon Musk

Harris-Walz 2024 spokesperson Joseph Costello released the following statement after Donald Trump's unhinged interview with Elon Musk.

"Donald Trump's extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a glitch of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen in tonight during whatever that was on X.com. Trump's entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself - self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.

Paid for by Harris for President

I am way late to this conversation, but I actually disagree with this. The generic Dem candidate, dropped in this race at THIS point of the race, does not get this support from the biggest supporters of the Democratic party -- Black women. If you had dropped in Whitmer, Shapiro, Beshear, Newsom, etc., bypassing the Black woman seated in the VP's chair, Black women would have gone ballistic, and the Dems lose. Period. That group -- again, the most fervent supporters of the Democratic party -- was already openly stating in every place that I saw and heard that bypassing Kamala if Joe dropped out was 100% unacceptable. And this was beginning immediately after the debate when rumors started to really pick up that Joe would have to go. So, yes, I disagree with all these posts I am seeing about the "generic" candidate being in the same position as Kamala. The generic candidate loses to Trump in this race, if it meant bypassing a ready and willing Kamala Harris. Black women would have revolted. And the Dems were smart enough to know it, which is why they coalesced around her so quickly, with zero fuss.

Good grief, this is awful. TFG was literally on the campaign trail in 2020 with Sean Hannity. And as a result of the absolutely biased coverage specifically designed to favor TFG during 2020/2021, Fox had to pay $787 million in a settlement. Yet it is Kamala and ABC that we need to be worried about regarding the relationship status? Wow. Absolutely ridiculous.

I've not seen the interview, but the fact that my Twitter timeline is not flooded by right wingers posting clips of Trump and Musk "owning the libs" would appear to indicate how it went.

Also rather strange that people were still able to log in, post, etc while there was "a massive DDOS attack" on the site. It's almost as if Musk doesn't actually know what DDOS means, or maybe he's just lying.

The Guardian: "Trump revisits most divisive talking points in rambling interview with Musk”

BBC today described Trump in his interview as essentially meandering and full of falsehoods.

I have not checked the NYT….. too early to get annoyed.

Noel Casler (worked on the apprentice) has been publicly claiming for years that trump has an insert/mouthpiece to cover a hole in his palate from long term cocaine and adderall abuse.

And he somehow hasn’t been sued. You may make of that what you will….but I know what I make of that.

For the first time in months, I have Morning Joe in the background. They just had David French, the NYT conservative columnist, on and apparently he wrote a column to endorse Harris. Good he is doing that, every vote counts and I am sure it may resonate in some small segments of conservatives. Having said that, what a pompous twat....

He's holding a rally in my neck of the woods on Saturday, in an arena he's used four times before (twice in 2016, once each in 2018 and 2020). So far as I can tell, he hasn't paid for it, yet he's getting it again this weekend.

I suspect he's been doing outdoor rallies because they're cheaper or easier to scam.

I see we did a little cleanup but I assume this was just missed. While this guy’s understanding of biology and genetics would be impressive if he were a 6th grader…we should expect a bit more here. If this was a serious attempt to discuss Swyer syndrome it would be one thing. But this is merely a post of a bigot. And, at a minimum, the bigoted part is completely off topic for this thread.

RFK jr is out in New York

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1jlgyzzyz4o

Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr does not meet the legal requirement of a New York resident and therefore cannot be on the state's election ballot, a judge has ruled.

    And more?

If the ruling is upheld, it would not only bar Mr Kennedy from the New York ballot but could also lead to challenges in other states where he uses that address.
