A thought that me and my wife had. She is running like a British election. There is not as much time to tear her down. She has a smaller window. The press will do their best though.

Maybe. And maybe probably. For instance, there may be a "we need to vet Kamala" push in the press. But I could also see that being somewhat tempered since the press just got a massive scalp with Biden stepping aside. Will that alter the way the press treats Harris -- and Trump? The press may instinctively want to appear "even-handed," which might cause them to set their sights on Trump. We'll have to see how this plays out.

The one thing you can count on Peter Thiel for is that he has no concept of relatability and will endorse candidates that come across as creepy (Blake Masters) or assholish (JD Vance). That the GOP had to pour money into Ohio is telling.

And of course, they're all obsessed with Lord of the Rings. And completely take the wrong lessons from it.

I said it earlier, JD is one of the worst picks. He doesn’t bring anything expect more maga all the time. He has the charisma of a kitchen table and has produced a ton of insane “material” to be used against him and the felon.

Andy Beshear is on fire… . He would destroy JD in a debate.

J.D. Vance is a phony, he’s fake. I mean, he first says that Donald Trump is like Hitler, and now he’s acting like he’s Lincoln. The problem with J.D. Vance is he has no conviction, but I guess his running mate has 34.”

you see the difference already of Kamala and surrogates being on message which Biden was not able to do at the debate or since.

They've been freed. Until Biden dropped out, every surrogate and advocate's first duty was to defend Biden staying in the race and being viable in November. Which nobody had the stomach to do. Now they've all be liberated from that duty, and they can focus on what they truly want to do: launch verbal missiles at Donald Trump.

    agreed.

the campaign had become a referendum on Biden instead of a choice.

Significantly, it wasn't a referendum on Biden's record as president but rather a referendum on whether he was still smart enough to do the job or not.

Ironically, Kamala can probably make a better case for Biden's record than Biden could.

Yes absolutely - that is a big part of why Biden could not refocus the race on how dangerous Trump is.

    His problems were baked in

Kamala refocusses it as a choice.

  19. So, just a thought, what happens if Biden choses to step down now.
    Is Kamala then president?
In that case she could dominate the media from the White house and run the campaign as the sitting president.

Yes, but she'd run into trouble appointing a Vice President because they would need to be approved by both houses of Congress, and Republicans control one of those and aren't interested in governing well.

Which would leave Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R) next in line for the presidency, which Democrats absolutely don't want to see.
