Joe Cannon was on the bench as Lens got an away win 1-0 at Parc des Princes.

It seems to me that ever since Cannon was signed that their kepper and defense has really kicked it in gear. Everytime I catch scoreline they've pitched a shutout. Makes me wonder if Cannon will return after June. I really think if he doesn't return a team in the English 1st division, a club in Belgium or Holland could use his services.

    Cannon seems to be appreciated

In the above interview with the Lens keeper coach Ettore that was posted on the Lens site last week he talks mostly about the improvement in both Itanje and in the Lens defense over the past few months. He pointedly says "Now, like in all clubs, competition with other keepers pushes (Itandje). I rely on competition, which several French players don't like. It is part of the business. It is necessary to have a healthy understanding between players. Charles has a good attitude, as does Joe Cannon... That is how to push a number "one" (keeper) and a team".

So it sounds like he is not unappreciated. Who knows what he thinks of his role. There are worse positions that being employed by a solid mid-table French team with legitimate European asperations - though probable not this year.
