Anyone else notice that Cannon hasn't even made the bench for Lens' last three games? Not even their League Cup games. Am I missing something? Did he leave us so that he could go to France to pick splinters out of his a##e?

No wonder he's had so much time to post on big soccer about how we're all idiots, jerks, asses, and dumb. I hope he gets out there soon to spare us from his arrogance.

We can search for all his posts, file them together as "Complete Works by ..." and send to the Library of Congress :)

Since the topic is how he's gone missing, has anyone noticed how, after gracing this forum with his thoughts for days, he hasn't shown up today to comment on any of this? Neither joecannon1 nor datruthhurts. Hmmm....

Yeah, I noticed this, too. I even checked the rosters on soccernet.com for Lens (who are usually incredibly up-to-date and thorough) and he's not even there yet.

I can only imagine he's playing for a month or so with the reserves in order to get used to the language and whatnot. It must be hard to organize a wall with no one understanding what you want.

After reading the things that folks on this forum have said about him since we "outed" him, I'm not surprised that he's not posting any more.

From this moderator - I believe that "datruthhurts" was Joe Cannon posting from France, but I can't prove it. Who knows, it may have been some 14 year old who is currently laughing his ass off.

Regardless, he's "out" now, and if he starts posting anonymously again people will probably figure it out pretty quick, so I don't expect he'll be back.

Back to the original subject -- I've been waiting for his name to show up at least as a reserve for Lens, but it hasn't happened yet. I hope he gets some PT soon.

It just goes to show what someone will do in anonymity that they would never do face to face. Posting as DaTruthHurts he could say things that he would never have said to a fan face to face. Of course the same thing can be said of many of us here, we say things, or say things in ways about players that we would never say to a players face. Oh sure there are exceptions to that, but there are always a few @ssholes in any crowd. If he has truly lurked here before I'm sure he has read some things that hurt, right or wrong. It probably felt good to have a chance to blast back. All in all I don't think we will here from DaTruthHurts again.

And I'll be the first to call myself a dumb idiot/jerk/ass if I helped chase Joe Cannon off the Quakes message boards - regardless of the pseudonym.

    Come back DaTruth.

Its part of being in the public eye...and more so a sports player when there is so much passion at stake. If we balls up at our jobs we piss a few people of and a few people call us names behind our back etc..but the price of fame and success is public critisism. As far as Joe goes, yes we've probably all critisised a mistake but I think all of us have praised him a hell of a lot more than we've critisised him because most of the time he has been awesome for us...but..if he can't the small amount he knocks he got and takes it out on the fans that ultimately pay his wages he should quit now...I think he is more pissed at the MLS because he didn't get the contract he deserves and is venting...I hope he does come back and join our discussions because his insights and experiences will certainly be fun to share IF he can treat us with respect and join in the banter.

As far as what Joe is up to, I read an article from a french website saying that he was training with the reserves and was still "acclimating" to the team. Not much else was mentioned.

The back-up GK for Lens - the guy Joe is replacing - is still seeing time on the bench. He is planning on getting surgery once Joe is ready. At least that's how I understand it. I would expect Joe to make the bench before the end of the month, maybe sooner.

I think it's crap that he (or anyone else) would have to play by the cliques' rules. I hope ya'll are proud of yourselves for chasing away a unique resource for info about San Jose. I've looked over the old posts and obviously he was arrogant - (though it would be hard not be when reading stuff that he'd have personal knowledge that it was wrong) but most of the bashing from SJ posters here began when he deviated from the party line - and others here thought they knew better.

Like it's hard to imagine a coach would say something just to sound good for the press. It doesn't make Yallop a liar, it makes him a major league coach. It's part of the game. And it's preposterous to imagine that even if you read it somewhere that a player wants this or that, that unless you've talked to them directly about it, they might actually want something else. Datruth busted up all that self-conclusionary thinking and you guys tore him a new one - partly because you're the "vets" and he was a newbie. Of course, he got pissed and thinking he was safe behind his computer, lashed back.

That's what really bothers me - I can post my home address and most of you will still never, never know or find out who I am, but mods take what should be private info and post it here. That's low, and tacky. And would not seem to encourage any other MLS athlete to ever grace us with their opinion again.

Now a unique insight is gone and I wonder if this thread is really about congratulating yourself about it. Of course, you probably are, since it means you have control of this forum again. Knock yourselves out.
