The day MLS arrives is the day that nobody starts threads like this one whenever some European has-been finds himself without a club.

That'll be the same day that DC finds itself in the playoffs.

Actually, "has-been" might be a harsh assessment in view of the fact that he's been playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and was on Argentina's most recent World Cup team. Especially when United have Stoichkov and Etcheverry on the roster, well past their "Sell-by" dates. But what do I know -- I just post on BigSoccer! ;)

Does anyone KNOWLEDGEABLE know how good or bad the Qatar league is? It seems like a bunch ex-greats (Romario, Effenberg, etc) have headed or will be heading to that league.

    umm...he is argentinian.

anyway, if the price is right why not bring him to mls? he is still very good and definitely good enough to at least play in the mls and it doesn't hurt to have veterans around.
