Attention Canadian viewers: Starting Sunday August 5 at 10pm Eastern Time until further notice (but no later than September 1 at 9pm ET), EuroWorld Sport (EWS) will air FOX Soccer Report on a continuous loop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. EWS is available in Ontario via Rogers Cable, and in the Winnipeg area via MTS IPTV. EWS currently has NO rights to any event programming whatsoever (no soccer, no rugby, no cricket) with the exception of a sublicense of a handful of FIFA youth events (U-17 and U-20 World Cups for men and women) through December 31, 2014.
Time to shut this sucker down IMO, we don't need a Fox Soccer Report channel. If they don't secure some programming ASAP then I don't see Rogers or MTS keeping the channel in their lineup?! Frankly I am surprised that its lasted as long as it has- Rogers must be either very patient or have a very good relationship with TLN?!
TeleLatino is under a lot of pressure to cut a deal with beIN SPORT LLC in order to convert EWS into beIN SPORT 1 Canada. If no deal were done by August 31, then the CRTC licence for EWS will be in danger. EWS will NOT have the rights to FOX Soccer Report after September 1 at 9:59pm ET, as Rogers Sportsnet will debut the new FOX Soccer Report on Sportsnet World on September 1 at 10pm ET, presumably with Kara Lang and co.
The pressure is really on now, as the last FOX Soccer Report from Winnipeg will be on August 16 instead of August 31. More info later...
I talked to my friend who works at TLN, he didnt give me much details but told me that EuroWorld Sport will be in exisitance past August 31st. Im suspecting they have several options in case thier number 1 option according to Oliver (beIN SPORT) does not come true.
The deadline date for TeleLatino to wrap up any deal with beIN SPORT LLC is now August 16, not August 31, as I understand that last FOX Soccer Report from CKND-TV Global Winnipeg will be produced on Thursday August 16 instead of Friday August 31. The lights in Winnipeg will be turned off 15 days earlier than anticipated by Shaw Media management.
I understand Oliver but I'm just telling the group that EuroWorld Sport will continue to operate whether they have beIN SPORT as a partner or not...EuroWorld Sport will continue broadcasting moving into September
Where will EWS find programming effective Friday August 17 at 10pm ET when it no longer can re-air FOX Soccer Report? EWS has no rights to anything (no events, no news, no magazine shows) unless a deal were done with beIN SPORT LLC by Friday October 17 at 10pm ET. beIN SPORT 1 USA's Express Weekend will meet Canadian Content rules (at least a certain percentage if not 100%) when it debuts. Besides a Canadian (female) host, I understand that a producer with Canadian citizenship may be in charge as well.
Producer Thomas Dobby and host Brendan Dunlop have left TheScore and have joined Fox Soccer News at Sportsnet. Dobby will produce the show and Dunlop will be one of the nightly hosts
Ticky he's done at The Score...his twitter account proves that and my friend who works at Sportsnet told me he's already seen him
