As a neutral observer I think Canada can be hopeful of a decent showing at the World Cup in Qatar. I rated them 20th among the 32 team field. Early prediction would be Canada wins on the last matchday against Morocco and exits the tournament in last with 3 points. Group F is incredibly close and will produce results that are all other the place as far as I'm concerned. Everybody feel free to check out my entire grade list. #Post 1509 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2022-fifa-world-cup-friendly-matches.2120177/page-61#post-40847034

The CSA may be forced to skip the fall international breaks for CanMNT and CanWNT due to lack of funding as it approaches the brink of bankruptcy. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...CY-forced-skip-fall-international-breaks.html This seems crazy to me as (I believe), the national teams are quite popular up in Canada. I would think the CSA could get bank from media and sponsorship deals. Seems... Odd that the national team games would be money losers...
Canada moved up to 43rd in the FIFA Rankings, and third in Concacaf. Panama is fourth in Concacaf, and Costa Rica fell two spots to fifth in Concacaf, which is their worst rank in Concacaf since they were sixth in March 2013. For part of 2014 to 2017, Costa Rica was first in Concacaf.
All audio from the Nov 21/2023 post game press conference of the CONCACAF QFinal of Canada vs Jamaica played in Toronto. Coaches Heimir Hallgrimsson, Mauro Biello and players Mark Anthony Kaye, Stephen Eustaquio, and Jonathan David http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports23/23cana06.htm
Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in a Concacaf Nations League Playoff in Frisco (near Dallas), Texas, USA. Cyle Larin scored in the 61st, and Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the 90+1st. You had 20 shots on goal, and I wish it was possible to find team record for shots on goal and other statistics. Trinidad and Tobago had 4 shots on goal.
France 0-0 Canada Canada did not have a shot on goal. Liam Millar hit the crossbar. Maxime Crepeau made 5 saves to get a draw. The odds gave France an 80.3 percent chance of winning. Flash Score gave man of the match to Canada's Ismael Kone. Canada moved up one spot to 39th in ELO, while France remained in second.
That was a good game. Jonathan David should have passed the ball to Estaquio for the tap in but I can't blame him for the blocked shot.
Congratulations on reaching the Copa America Semifinals against Argentina on Tuesday. In the Quarterfinals, you took a 1-0 lead against Venezuela. Venezuela's leading scorer, Salomon Rondon, scored with Crepeau out of the goal. The Quarterfinals and Semifinals go to penalty kicks without extra time. The first five kicks had both teams score or both teams fail, and Canada won 4-3 after six kicks.
In the Third Place Game against Uruguay, you took the lead in the 80th, but Luis Suarez scored in the 90+2nd to make 2-2, and Uruguay won penalty kicks. Ismael Kone and Jonathan David scored. Games decided in penalty kicks count as draws, and in ELO you gained 16 points and passed USA for 31st. I wonder if it was your first time above USA in a long time, but you were also 1 spot above USA after World Cup Qualifiers on February 2, 2022.
You moved up 8 spots to 40th in the FIFA Rankings, which is your best ranking since you were 38th in March 2022. There is a giant difference between FIFA and ELO. In FIFA, USA leads Concacaf and is 16th, but ELO thinks you are better than USA.

It's Thanksgiving in the USA, but Canada has something to be thankful for. You moved up 4 spots to 31st in the FIFA Rankings, which is your best FIFA Ranking ever. FIFA has USA first in Concacaf, Mexico second, and you third. ELO has you 26th and first in Concacaf. The scoreboard at Suriname's stadium was seven seconds ahead of the clock on the screen.
