I have no idea who is on the Canadian team. I remember watching a Canadian team play the Ottawa Wizards a few years back in Montreal. Although, I thought I read that the CSA is now involved with the national team?

I have played it a few times in the Czech Republic and I must say I enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I have only watched one proper game of futsal. The Ottawa Wizard played against the Canadian national team in 2001. I think there is a futsal league in Ottawa. www.futsalottawa.com

Apparently there are two national associations for futsal in Canada. One is the CSA and the other is a Ontario/Quebec team (from what I understand). I will have to look into this a little further.

Canada qualified for the WC because they beat the US 10-0 in Ogdensburg, New York. Apparently the US only used college players from New York and Vermont because the new US futsal association will be formed later this year. I guess they are in a transition period.

Too bad futsal isn't on TV in Canada. I believe the games are shown in some countries in Europe.

Yeah a guy on my outdoor team plays futsal in that league. I'm not sure that I want to sign up for a full season but I guess that may be the only way to play. I really enjoy indoor soccer...it's not the same as outdoor but I get to shoot a lot more

Adding to the confusion, this World Cup is not the FIFA version, which will be held in 2004 in Taiwan, but the one organized by the rival AMF. IIRC FIFA and AMF futsal have some differing rules.

    I didn't know about that...

Perhaps this is why the non-CSA futsal team is representing Canada?
