There is an interesting contrast between the two NT's I cheer for the most, Korea and Canada. Korea never play away, while Canada never plays at home!

Both are pretty badly fifa ranked, canada at 85, Liechtenstein at 140. Personally I'm hoping for this one as it would be a nice trip to see this and the France v Swiss game. France Might want to get there squad jelled before their big match against Switzerland in Basel on the 8th of October. If they loose to Ireland, they would pretty much have to win that game in Switzerland to get a second in group 4 and into playoff to get to WC. Although this would give them three matches in a week. Two would be against rather weak teams, Canada and Cyprus. Switzerland Same as above, only they are in a slightly better position than france. The big exception is they have to play Ireland after France, so they might want a rest. And most likely don't need the warm up as they are favored against France for that game in Basel. Other than that I don't see any other western european teams for them to play during that time that either have gaps in their WCQ schedule or would want to play an additional game.

They are done their WCQ and do not play on Oct. 12 like most European teams. I'm considering a trip to see the France v Switzerland Qualifier in Basel on the 8th and this game if this is indeed who they will play. Time however to plan this is running out.

I think Mr Yallop said they were looking at another game in Europe. Here are the countries that don't have a game on October 12th. This is all based on if Canada is looking for a friendly during WCQ dates. Germany Liechtenstein Israel Faroe Islands (re-match from the two games in 1989) Romania Ukraine Some interesting games possible (ie Ukraine and Romania). Now, as far as October 7th goes. Germany Macedonia Armenia Andorra Turkey Latvia Poland Azerbaijan San Marino Malta (!) Revenge against Malta must be ours!
Re: Canada to play Spain (Sep 3rd) and Luxembourg (Nov 16) i think that if canada were to face a country like andorra,malta macedonia ect ect we could convince them to bring their squad to canada and play here it would be much better for canada to play at home because realistically speaking sportsnet or any other channel (not counting specialty channels like fox sportsworld canada) will likely not carry the games and it give canadians a chance to watch team canada play without having to travel to another country
