You're being stingy. But whatever. This cup had great contests, great football, great drama. IMO. And that comes from someone who strangely hoped it would be a failure because of the "circumstances" of its hosting.
Argentina vs France in the 2022 final? one issue is only spain have played 3 top sides. before today argentina cake walked to the final only having to beat england in their only heavy weight game to date.
IDK if the Fox guys said this but I just googled and no other team has had zero shots in the first 90 mins of a WC Final. (let alone ET) That's the level of positive footy that ARG have brought today.
The games have been good. Stars have delivered. Underdogs had some good performances and were not outclassed. The Balogun stuff was gross. Ad breaks suck. Group stage was kind of a dud, no stakes. Thinking back to past tournaments, I don't remember the crowds being as good for matches where the host wasn't playing. I think that's a credit to the US, hotels and airports for fans who traveled, plus lots of ex-pats to fill stadiums. They survived our awful public transportation.
OK, OK, I have to say something positive about Argentina. Not the team or the players. But the fans. They have literally sung loudly for 2+ hours straight. Sorry for the football they have to endure, but credit to their support. Some of the best of the tournament.
IT'S OVER! THANK GOD!!! spain wins Edit: Sorry I was dreaming of golden goal. But really that should do it, right????
See my edit. But yes I was really really hoping to be put out of my misery. Anyway, let's just pray that ESP don't do what ENG did in the semi and go into a deep bunker, against this very same team.
McAllister just earned his first yellow. After 111'. I stand very much corrected on my previous prediction.
