It got my attention. There are so many games left though. I doubt it even makes a best of reel, given all that is still at stake. As far as group stage goals go: Maxi. James. The flying dutchman. This was not in the same category.
Yeah. The show game in basketball is on a different level to all the other sports given that the show companies run that sport and that basketball show culture is such a big deal.
Watch the movie Air with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the NBA fined Jordan for wearing red sneakers but he kept wearing them and Nike paid the fine because they made so much more money selling them. College basketball players now will wear two different colored shoes, one on each foot.
Yeah I also meant to type mizuno rather than minion I remember there was a period when players had bright yellow predators I think black football boots look the best but I’m an old Miserable Cnut
Puma released boots with that gimmick if I remember correctly, one boot was pink with yellow highlights and the other was yellow with pink highlights?

2 red cards for Qatar and down 3-0. 2nd red for a leg breaking tackle on Kone from the sounds of things. Edit: Just saw the replay, the sound was bad, it was a poor tackle and the fact the ref initially gave a yellow is baffling. The Qatar player must have really put his leg through it because tackles from behind like that happen a bit.
Mexico will advance with tonight's win but to me they don't look like a team that will go very far in the knockout rounds. Over to you USA they might be saying.
Agree, but they’re also unbeaten in 2026. The bracket is shaping up for a Mexico - England R16 game on July 5 at the Azteca, which would be incredible.
It seems like a lot of teams are playing three at the back this World Cup. It looks like both US and Australia will be. South Korea and Czech Republic did yesterday. Croatia and Panama did the day before that.
That's my guess for USMNT today: 3-5-2. Didn't see that coming but Poch choosing Pepi to "replace" Puli makes me think that might just be it. But YNK he could even stick w/ 4-2-3-1 and just ask Pepi or Balo to play wide left? Edit: The FOX "gurus" are guessing 4-4-2. It's just so rare that we see that in 2026, I kinda discounted it. But who knows! It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
This has become a very physical game. Balogun just tried to start a fight with an Aussie who is a head taller than him, for which he received a yellow card
