Apparently they can't be saved. Eddie Davidson (the GM) sent an email out saying that the CT Wolves will not exist in 2003. The negotations between the town and another party did not work out so "no more Wolves". Eddie did say that two groups were working on bringing back soccer in 2004. Possibly in Hartford or New Haven. We'll see.

I'm sorry to hear about the Wolves going out of business. Veterans Stadium was a nice location as well. Here is hoping that maybe they can make it back in Hartford, CT for 2004! Perhaps at Dillon Stadium?

I hate to see things like this happen. Hartford is a prime location for an NASL franchise. Hartford is doing very well with an AHL franchise and a new minor league ballpark for AA team. Not too far off Mohegan Sun have added a NLL franchise to join the WNBA club at Sun Arena.
To the south Bridgport also AHL franchise and the Independent Atlantic baseball league team.
Hartford and Bridgeport are prime for the AHL as well being located mostly in the Northeast.
