They only have decent attack and a bit faster tempo after falling behind and move Xavi to attacking midfield. What a disappointment match!
Wieffer was the best player on the pitch even though he only played a half. Malen's shot was very good but so was the save. Simons is the only creative player on this team. Hato after the second minute was good and his lay off to Xavi let to the shot that I think the keeper touched. de Vrij was solid enough. Koeman went straight down the tunnel after the whistle. I hope he started walking home.
I know it’s a joke but I sure hope that man didn’t destroy his family over the nations league, glorified friendlies!
It is still NL not World Cup or Euro, and this team is still 2nd place, enough to qualify for the next round if they win the next 2 matches (still in their control). The disappointments I have is that Koeman has not been able to build an identity for this team, and test out players. His tactics are still trial and errors, and his selections/substitutions are still questionable. It does not give me confidence without seeing the consistency and I am tired of reading his excuses. Sorry for my rants and I am done with Koeman until I see his accountability and more liberal/open minded approaches.
44026 I was about to post the same, but about 45 seconds after that good intervention he managed a ball he received from Verbruggen completely free at the sideline to pass it towards the box to a German player, causing a dangerous situation.
He was not the only player to pass to an opponent. Only Wieffer among the MFs seemed to have a clue. Don't even start about van den Ven.
Shocking match today. Utterly disgraceful. Koeman should be sacked. Questionable lineups, tactics, and substitutions is the norm he gives us upon his second stint as Manager. Ultimately the players need to take accountability for their sleepwalking and pathetic performance today. Some quick player analysis. Van de Ven was useless. Germany who were nothing special themselves simply allowed VdVen on the ball and he certainly wanted no part of it as his passing was mostly backwards. Q Timber was very poor again. He’s simply not great on the ball and seems out of his depth at this level. I Love his great motor but he needs a lot of improvement. Hato was nervous tonight, and he didn’t have his normal confidence on the ball himself, and if anything he will likely see the tactic of being pressed come his way more often if Coaches are smart after watching tonight’s cringe worthy match. Brobbey must have thought he was playing for Ajax tonight with the lacking supply just hard to believe. Xavi did very little until moving to the the 10 from his normal Left side when playing for RB Leipzig. Wieffer did well when he came on, and that was pretty much it. Both matches were very disappointing this international period with the lack of energy, proactive movement, and combination play all missing.
You just have to look in the mirror to look at one’ self . From Gakpo to Dumfries to koemans tatical set up to player preferences and how the team copes with injuries has been discussed in length already and it was not any different and again a feature dedicating to koeman persistent and how it finally crumbled to its knee and leaving him now with no excuse given how German B team made it look so easy that the Dutch didn’t have any shot on target and zero attempts on goal in first half. the Germans also came into the game with high causality to their regular big names but contrary to the Dutch players who just have over 4-5 caps like Timber, Brobbey, Gravenberch, hato , Van der ven the German new faces stiller, leweling and others looked more competent and played with more confidence and maturity and this is where the spotlight light falls on koeman as mentioned previously. It has all caught up to him and by the neck hold. I think Van bommel is avaliable, enough is enough, kVNB shud not think twice of kicking him out given how koeman abandoned the ship last time out. If Van mawijk decides to joins Van bommel as his assistant, even more better. as for the game, nothing to say.

Not to disagree… but genuinely curious who are the candidates to replace Koeman? I would hate to see “interim” manager stepping in, the Van Gaal’s or Blind’s of the world. Or Frank de Boer I guess Ten Haag? Given he’s on the thin ice and can be sacked any moment now… I am not too impressed with him, though. And he doesn’t have enough experience for a caliber job like a NT. I would like to see Bosz taking over... his timeline may actually be aligned with Koeman’s contract expiration after WC 2026. By then Bosz would want more challenges after (presumably) multiple Eredivisie titles with PSV, and before sunsetting to retirement. A dream manager would be Slot… but I would think that he’s way out of reach from availability (and his desire) standpoints.
44429 When you think about it, it's incredible that Nagelmanns, after last match against the Orange Squad, analyzed and remedied/annihilated the Brobbey problem, even with a depleted team selection, while Koeman seems incapable of learning lessons from matches, accentuated by the fact he too often has to repair things during the break. It simply tells you he has zero analitical content of opponents and how we fared against them, to come up with a plan how to tackle the opponent.
Nah, you're right. There arent a whole lot of replacements available. So we're probably stuck with him. Thing is we have a very young team. A young team is supposed to gradually get better. But this team seems to be getting worse instead. Qualifying for WC2026 wont be easy, especially if we get a tough group
Real flaws came to light last night for Oranje as Germany just outworked their opponents, with pressing and desire. Oranje were sleepwalking the last 2 matches and our middle of defense manned by De Vrij & Van de Ven were exposed for not being good on the ball. Timber also struggled with this. For all those killing Virgil it’s time to be real because he was missed last night as was Nathan Ake too. I’m guessing Van de Ven and Timber will be pressed a little more when they return to their respective clubs. Koeman really needs to make some serious changes after this past week regarding his tactics and selection on top of getting the players to show greater effort and proactive work on and off the ball. Personally I’ve seen enough of him.
Certainly it’s interesting reading. As I’ve stated before I’m not a fan of these ratings because often I don’t think the individuals know what they’re looking at when it comes to evaluating the matches properly, but it certainly adds talking points.
44946 No. He's a good candidate for an Eredivisieclub job and would have been a great interim for Ajax, but in my opinion he lacks top grade tactical nouse and top grade people management to be the Orange Squad coach.
Can we conclude the cowhead should stop playing Xavi as a winger and either play him in the midfield or leave him on the bench?
45457 https://talksport.com/football/2182499/liverpool-arne-slot-exploited-tactical-flaw-chelsea/ Difference between Koeman and Slot. Elite Arne Slot exposed Chelsea’s tactical flaw – his uplifting influence reverberates around Liverpool He's an elite-level manager, spotting things quickly. Slot immediately instructed his players to target Chelsea’s sparsely populated left-back area. Malo Gusto inverted into midfield, and pushed high up, a bold tactic by Enzo Maresca but one that Slot swiftly exploited. With Gusto upfield, Liverpool launched long balls towards Mo Salah, including one pin-perfect 60-yard switch by Virgil van Dijk. In other words Slot manages real time, Koeman doesnot intervene after twenty minutes awful play by the Orange Squad.
Provisional squad for November... the midfielders are quite lightweight as many of the first options are absence: Simons, Koopmeiners, Veerman, Schouten, and of course, Frenkie De Jong. Incoming are Til and Taylor, lol Would rather see new faces and give the minutes to Steijn and Milambo.
