    Alors voyons un peu.

I think given we have agreed to participate and even more, to host it, we must do everything to win it. Can we do it? Well normally (I know I know normally we shoud have topped our group at the last WC) we should win the group and then we should play either Turkey or Brazil in the semi final and, hopfully, one of these 2 teams in final. I do not underestimate Turkey at all which I think are a very good side. Brazil will be without Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Carlos and a few others but they will want to win as always. It is actually surprising that Rivaldo who has hardly played with Milan this year does not play in the CC.
I think France objective should be at the very least to play the final.

    Whats the point?

Jeez...after reading these posts it seems to me that the US NATS should pack up and head back home. You've got me all bummed out now...I don't even want to watch the CC. ;)

    Le ignorant, le arrogant Francais'...

I hope the French can bring it to SOMEONE this time, and not have a repeat of the 2002 WC.

I think France should and will be favored to win. Most of the squad is in tact, although a few big names, including Zidane, will be missing.

I think Brazil, Turkey, and possibly the U.S. are the only other teams will a legit chance of winning the thing.

France should have no trouble getting to at least a semi with their group.

No offense, but does it really matter who wins the Confed Cup? Brazil's already said it doesn't matter given that the squad they're sending. To say they're missing "a few big names" is just way off. 1/2 there squad has never EVER played an international for them to date. In resting Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Gilberto Silva,Roberto Carlos and others Parreira is saying "hey, this isn't all that important". I can't blame him, either.

That said, it was nice to see Kapo make the squad. But Steve Marlet? I don't think he's worth the time.

Everyone who has played international football had to get a first cap some way or another...Anyways, I still think Brazil can win it. In fact, I think everyone in the tourney (except maybe New Zealand) can win it.

like many have said already in the other threads that is Brazil's problem. We all know that should their team win they will say "look, even with half a team we are still the best" whereas if they fail they will say "we rested our best players therefore we could not perform much better"
    A classic.

    I agree, it's a win-win situation for them.

France is in the driver's seat on this one, I think they might win it, after all they only win in their own turf! :D

this is exactly what i really hate about "that was our b team" excuse. as long as they shut their mouth, i won't say anything about it after the game but if they say the things you just said above, i always have ultimate fun to curse at them and their GAY team.

Let us see where I was supposedly 'not being le serious'. This guy says la France can only win when they play at home. I say he is le full of it seeing as la France HAS won away from home.

Are you saying he is not le full of it and that le Netherlands is part of la France? We are not allowed to say true things le anymore on this board?

    Go le harass somebody else.

And France takes it, 1-0 on the Henry golden goal in overtime, 97th minute.

Solid game with both France and Cameroon attacking, though France had the better of the play and deserved the victory. So, another trophy for France, can they repeat as European Champions? See you in 12 months.
