    Hey Everyone!!

I am new to San Jose and new to the message board. I actually decided to register because I need some help.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a soccer league to play in? I am in my early 20s, played in college...and still love the game. I used to play 4 times a week before I moved here and I have been dying to find a place to start over.

Let me know if anyone has a team or knows of one!! Thanks and I am looking forward to soccer in San Jose!

    Hey PitchGirl!
Welcome to the boards! I'm a newbie myself. Don't have any info on where to play soccer...but do you have a favorite player on the 'Quakes? ;)

Don't know if it will be that much of a help, but every thursday in the Merc Sports Section there is a page with many different sports teams and leagues looking for participants. You might want to look there tommarow.

Canada College in Redwood City offers a Saturday "class" that has some pretty skilled players (coed)..great field, great coach...starts at 11:00 and goes for about 2 and half hours..

There is a great women's league in Palo Alto. I'm not sure if someone already posted their website (I don't know what it is...). The games are held at Jordan Middle School in Palo Alto on Sundays from 9 to about 1 or 2. They have 3 different divisions ("C" which is the lowest, "B" which is the middle- I played in this division and had a good workout, and premier). Every division plays at the same time, just on different fields (there are 3 at the school). Everyone always needs guest players- just show up with your drivers license, and they don't really have uniforms, just matching t-shirts and shorts, but if the teams know they need players they usually bring extras. The club teams from Stanford and Cal play (at least they did last year), and a lot of students that already played 4 years, or completed their 2 years at a C.C. Everyone is pretty nice and we have a good time. What college did you play at? Good luck!

I don't know how much longer coach Mangiola will be coaching, however. And if he goes, who knows what will happen to the class.

They are also supposed to be changing the field to an artificial surface soon. Don't know how that will affect the scheduling.

There will always be a class at Canada, but I am not sure if they will have a summer one. Probably just pre-season training on their own. AND CANADA IS HAVING MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAMS NEXT YEAR!!!!! I hate to admit this, but I played there for two years, and Frank is an amazing coach, even though he is the men's coach, he is one of the best in the country. The men's and women's teams both made it to play-offs last season, so the competition is good, if people show up. But they might be ending soon b/c there are only about 3 weeks of school left...I don't know about the artificial turf b/c of all the budget cuts. Our fees for classes were increased by more than double the original amount. Support the community colleges! ok, going to end this as I am getting off topic...

I coach two women's teams in San Jose. We play in the Bay Area Women's Soccer League. Check your PMs, or send me a private message, if you are interested in looking at our teams.
