Put your shooting boots on, boys. I didn't think Arnaud had it in him, but he did manage one goal for the year. We might as well move Meola to forward. The guy did play it in high school I hear.

Wolf and Klein, if not you then who else?

It's going to be a long year. We lost to the Burn. How can you be impressed with that. We got the better end of that trade? Well we lost to the Burn didn't we.

Come on Wizards! Score another goal and shut me up for a while.

just because we lost to dallas doesn't mean we're that much worse, it probably means they're that much better. actually, i WAS impressed with how we played against dallas... for the most part. the one goal they did score was preventable, and we actually had pace and purpose on offense even though we couldn't get one in. i bet we'll score at least two this weekend.

I'm with kcsc on this one. It's very important that our team looks impressive on the field, and they have. The shots will (at least you'd hope by law of averages) start going in. Klein, Guti and Walsh were all just off last weekend. If those go in we're on here talking about how we don't need Preki or Igor because we have plenty of people who can put the ball in the net. ;)

Maybe so, but there are two types of strikers in this world-- Goal scorers and athletes. I watched Cobi Jones play for the USMNT for a long time. I don't think he ever scored a goal that wasn't a breakaway or just a super easy finish. You'd see him take shots, be in position to score (if its another player), and disrupting the defense. Yet, when they'd come off the field it sounded like a broken record-- "Man, we had our chances, but we just couldn't finish them today..." After a while that gets really old. We've scored 1 goal this season on like 50+ shots (exhibitions don't count). While Arnaud's goal was nice, the goalie was overexposed and it's hard to keep chipping goalies :) . You have to wonder if some of these guys are just nice complimentary players (Wolff included), an if we're just treading water till we get the Eastern Bloc back.

Agree, except fot the Wolff thing. Wolff is forced into a role of pseudo-playmaker. He should be the guy everyone forgets about until it's too late to track him.

    Temporary problems.

In theory the silver in the cloud is that it will help his overall game both for the Nat's and KC. In the end his further ability to create will be needed if Preki comes back less than MVP caliber.

hey maybe this new defender vuk rasovic will be able to provide some of that scoring. i mean, we did trade armstrong to get him, so im sure this move will help boost our attacking capabilities, right?

Cobi's hit a few. I recall a left footed screamer from about 20 yards against Jamaica in DC. Not to mention Cobi never really played forward. An attacking minded midfielder yes, striker who was supposed to put the ball in the net no.
I get your point and its a good one. But I'm still of the opinion that the goals will come. As long as you're creating chances the goals will come.
