Cameroon has sacked their national coach Winfried Schaefer, following a 3-0 friendly loss to Germany.

"[O]n grounds of grievous misconduct and poor results," according to the country's youth and sports minister.

Soccer America added that Schaefer reportedly hadn't been paid for four months and said he was informed of the decision by journalists.

Which makes more laughable the federation's desire to hire either former Fulham coach Jean Tigana or former Real Sociedad boss Reynald Denoueix.

I'm surprised at this, and at the fact he hasn't been payed four months worth of dough. He had a good run with Cameroon IMO. I also feel that after the death of Vivien-Foe he was able to turn the team around into a different direction, and he did a good job at it. It's surprising for me to see him go since I enjoyed his work with Cameroon....

I'm not sure why you're shocked. Cameroonian football is not known for the competence of its organization.

Has Cameroon narrowed down their search or are they still looking for possible replacements?
