4-2 Betis. CCV headed the ball in the wrong direction in a defensive melee, and from the confusion came the Spanish team's fourth.

Missed a chance to clear #3, lost his runner on #2 by attempting a half-assed offside trap, and watched the ball squirt right past him on #1.

Ugly performance. His positioning and reactions are awful today.

CCV is a terrible match to dribbling teams, like most in La Liga.

The reason he looked so poor today is the same why Brooks looks ass when facing dribbling demons in Central America.

Celtic fought back mainly on grit and got a rather decent 3-4 away loss. They play at home next, versus the Aspirins.

I watched the replay last night. In general, CCV started the match really well - very promising. However, once his agility and positioning started getting tested he struggled BIG TIME. He wasn’t any worse than the rest of Celtic’s defenders, but they were collectively awful. Don’t think he’ll be earning a call if he plays like that every time against decent ( i.e non-SPL) opposition.

1-0 loss to Livingston and there must be some unrest amongst the fans.

Double the goal differential of anyone else in the league, in 6th place after 6 matches with 3 wins and 3 losses.

Weird start to the season for Celtic.

I mean…….yeah but it doesn’t hold a candle to the anger of last season. Lots of turnover in the front office, coaching staff, and a slew of player exists & arrivals. I think most fans who were honest with themselves anticipated a slow start out of the gate as everyone adjusts. I know I did. Now… didn’t expect to have 3 wins and three loses though. I really don’t know what to think. It’s been such a rollercoaster already. I’m not ready to hit the panic button. I think the quality of the squad will eventually win over and results come our way but right now it’s frustrating and maddening

Do 3 losses essential hand the title to Rangers?

No. Rangers don’t look like the same team as last year. The table is jam packed. Celtic are sitting 6th but 4 points back from Rangers who top the table. Hibs sit on 12 pts, Hearts 12 pts, Motherwell 11 pts and Dundee United on the 10.

Celtic was 6th after 4 games played last season. And finished 2nd.

It's like Bayern and the BuLi: Celtic and Rangers only have to start caring after Xmas to finish 1 and 2.

The other teams will take enough points away from each other anyway.

I would say that’s true most seasons but I think this season will be a closer race to the finish. Ultimately the cream will rise to the top and Rangers and Celtic will finish 1 & 2 but there’s going to be pressure from Hibs, and whoever decides to challenge for the 4th spot. I don’t know how close the title race will be but Rangers - who are favorites - won’t be winning by double digit points this season. I just don’t see it. I think that’s good for the whole league.

Scotland decided to stay with only 3 subs this season, so the Firm's depth isn't as big an advantage and may hurt them as the top teams in leagues are getting overworked.

am I missing something here. Fewer subs would be a bigger advantage for deeper teams wouldn't it? As the other teams burn out.

Usually, being able to bring a better player than the other team has off the bench is an advantage. Think of what happens when the USWNT goes to the bench to bring in Press & Heath & Macario.

More substitutes usually helps the deeper team. Only having 3 subs means 8 of your players have to play the full game & you have less flexibility tactically.

Celtic won 3-0 and are now in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, slated to play against St. Johnstone (the current holders) in November.

1-1 at the half. Ian Harkes scored for Dundee. Celtic subbed defender Juranovic at ~25 mins - I'm guessing injury.

If we're being real Scottish football has transitioned to being the dregs of Europe.

Celtic is known more for their nice looking jersey schematics than anything else amongst the younger generation.
