They've loosened some of those rules, though I'm not exactly sure how. Cup-tying isn't as big of an obstacle as before.
Tottenham is in Conference league. He’d be fine assuming if he were to go to Celtic, that Celtic stay in Europa and don’t drop down. Edit- example- Richards played in UCL for a Bayern and then Europa for Hoffenheim.
Lololol, my mistake. Here I was thinking Tottenham were a 2nd rate European team, but they're actually a 3d rate European team!
This one ends 1-0 Pacos de Ferreira, and from the match updates, it sounds like CCV really struggled.
I’m trying to figure out how that happened? I mean…. I see how it happens but what was the hell CCV thinking on the missed clearance? That was a wild attempt at a clearance.
Agreed. CCV is usually very composed and doesn’t make those type of mistakes very often. Odd one for sure. Reports are he didn’t play well at all. Too much pressure of himself knowing it could be a shop window?
Hmmm, too bad for CCV but tough to put blame on a defender for a 1-0 road loss. I imagine Spurs fans will be more worried about the big old ZERO. CCV has enough of a track record that 1 game isn’t changing anyone’s mind about him.
Might have changed Bournemouth's: Bournemouth has ended talks with Tottenham over #USMNT defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, a source close to the player confirmed today. Looks like just Newcastle United left on the table for now. #AFCB #NUFC— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) August 19, 2021
Sounds as though he was injured toward the end ... "A clumsy performance which did little suggest he has a future in the first-team. Caught deep and played Silva onside for the winning goal. Hobbled off with a late injury to cap a frustrating night. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...os-sessegnon-romero-gil-scarlett-b951494.html
I do wish clubs live-tweeted interest during games though. That would be cool. "Did you see that shot?! 4.8 million!" Like an auction. That would be awesome.
I think he needs to find a club in the C'ship and make a career for himself at that level a la Tim Ream. He doesn't have the chops at the level of the prem but does seem to thrive in the right club at the C'ship level. No shame there.
Picked up an injury: Nuno also said Cameron Carter-Vickers twisted his ankle against Pacos and 'it doesn't look good'. https://t.co/z7KuSh1mnU— Alasdair Gold (@AlasdairGold) August 20, 2021
If it's a bad sprain, that could scupper any loan move. It's very unlikely that someone will take a player who'll miss the next 6 weeks or more, so he could well be staying until the window opens in December
The risk of playing a guy solely for the purposes of a “shop window” or to drum up the selling price is dangerous. It can backfire especially when an injury occurs. The player is the one that suffers not the clubs. Looking at yesterday’s roster for Spurs, this wasn’t a “C squad”. If CCV had already been deemed surplus to requirements was there a need to play him other than this acting as a shop window? If this is a bad sprain, agent and player have every right to be pissed.
Not as bad as expected: Some positive news for Cameron Carter-Vickers, his ankle injury suffered against Pacos De Ferreira has been ruled a Grade 1 minor sprain, a source close to the player confirmed today. Should be back in action in a week. #THFC #USMNT— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) August 21, 2021
Asked Nuno if Carter-Vickers' potential move has been scuppered by injury: "No, he's much better. He ran outside and yesterday was already on the pitch so he's improving a lot & this is the only thing that concerns me, that the player is fit and healthy." https://t.co/Dg6lxNF37f— Alasdair Gold (@AlasdairGold) August 27, 2021
