while not specifically about soccer, given the past discussion of placing cameras to watch goal lines i believe this is relevant

say cameras are implented in soccer, now imagine this scenario:

big time game, score tied 1/4 of the way thru, mad scramble in box-- ball banging off posts and whatnot-- linesman signals goal, defenders go nuts referee goes to fourth, or maybe the new fifth official who consults camera replays -- no goal -- home fans furious, whistling maddly at linesman, ahem assisstant referee, for rest of the game

here's the kicker, this surely will impact AR's psyche for the rest of game i.e. doubting himself, making unsure calls, being influenced by players fans whatever, of course he's trained to be a professional and make do, but as a newly licsensed ref i certainly understand how making a bad call can mess with you

anyways, call me a purist or call me a blabbering fool-- just wanted those out there who dont want cameras getting involved in the "evolution" of soccer to have a little extra fodder whenever such fodder may be needed

    later,
