i gotta say it's quite literally the best i've seen in mls... ever they could still make it better though, but it'd be a sin to not comment on the improvement it seriously almost makes the football lines ok
No doubt. I was expecting to absolutely hate watching this match, but the camera work is great and the pitch dimensions are perfect. As you said it almost makes up for the football lines. Almost. Heads and shoulders above Napperville anyway.
I'll concur -- very good camera work by MLS standards. I could have done with a few replays of big plays (a non-call in the box, Morrow's header off the bar, etc.), but overall I can't complain.
ditto marked improvement. the whole production seemed better than what I was used to seeing on ESPN last year. On another note: What was up with Paysee's earings? Glad to have her back!
Much better! I never understood why they don't put cameras at the top of the upper deck in Crew Stadium. The angles would be much better than what they now have from the press box. Oh well, who am I to question MLS's judgement.
i would imagine that we will have similar angles at victoria street... i also seem to recall it being mentioned that the cameras might be higher at naperville this year... and cardinal stadium has green endzones besides the increased angle to the field, i would like to see them QUIT DOING CLOSEUPS SO I CAN'T SEE THE GAME
I agree.....I can only imagine how nice that O'Brien goal would have looked had they gotten the endzone camera perfectly behind him, unfortunatly they almost competely missed it. But I do love the above angle, reminds me of the angle that's shown at Celtic Park.
Did it sound okay? I was there, and the crowd was relatively quiet -- I think the noise level there is going to pick up pretty quickly.
That, and her eyebrows seemed to have a mind of their own. It was amusing. And I'm pretty sure the cameras will be up higher in Naperville this year. Later, COZ
The camera was good. For me, atleast, it did not make up for football lines. And aside from O'Briens goal, I would have preferred watching the WUSA match.
the drums could be heard very well, especially in the first half- chanting could sometimes be heard, but overall the sound dropped off in the second half it seemed- you could tell most of the crowd was sitting quietly, though
They will be. Confirmed last trip I made out there. Not for the 18-yd cameras but for the main central camera, it will be much higher up.
I'm assuming you meant that it was boring by that. I have to agree. A boring 1-0 win with Cunningham "knee-ing" a ball in during the last few minutes. I thought it was boring too, not to mention losing the announcers twenty minutes into the game on television. The only thing that I liked better about it was that my Crew won, and there were no football lines.
The football lines and the colored end zones really spoil the game for me. It just makes the field seem so much smaller than it is. The lower the camera the better for me, especially coming from the stand's viewpoint.
Very Importan part of soccer Still is a lot of room for improvement, TV soccer is about 65 percent of the bussines and a superb tv production have to be a goal for MLS so i bet you MLS will be happy to heard some comments and sugestions....
Sorry, I have to disagree The camera angle was nice, but I had a very difficult time following the ball. The lines are one thing--that's been rehashed over and over again--we all hate them and they make the league look amateurish. Maybe it was the different color endzones, I don't know. I just found it difficult to watch this game, much more so than a game in Naperville or NY. I for one, hope there aren't too many nationally televised home games for Dallas till the new stadium goes up. I thought it looked terrible. Just my opinion.
