WE WANT THE USMNT JOB THIS SUMMER! AOKCdoesnotstop.com #givekcajob To the American Outlaws, the KC Cauldron, and all those in Kansas City who love the beautiful game: Many of you have heard that we have a good chance to host the US Men’s National Team here this June for the 2011 Gold Cup. The Gold Cup is a long-running, prestigious tournament that decides the Champion of CONCACAF and awards a berth to the Confederations Cup. The last time the US visited was over 10 years ago and fans have been anxiously waiting for their return ever since. A few weeks ago members of AOKC & the Cauldron decided it wasn’t enough to wait and see if we were chosen. We wanted to show the United States Soccer Federation that nobody will support our boys like we can in KC, and that this should be a no-brainer for them. To do that we needed to “earn the job” by working the hardest for it, showing the most desire to host it. We’re tired of being unemployed supporters, forced onto the road to look for USMNT work in Chicago, Nashville, and New York. Kansas City is the greatest city and don’t let anyone tell you different. We have incredible fans, a new stadium on the way, and a beautiful city. This is the year that we make KC and the rest of the country take notice of what we’ve built here. We created the website www.AOKCdoesnotstop.com to be our resume. If you go there before 10am, you will need to enter “aokc” in the username and “flipcup” in the password boxes, without the quotes. We will submit our resume to the USSF around 10. This is where we really need your help! None of this means anything if people don’t see it. We want you to send the link AOKCdoesnotstop.com to US Soccer’s official accounts and emails, journalists, friends, KC people and family and tell them to #givekcajob . That’s the twitter hashtag we’d like people to use so they can spread the word. Spam them if you have to. We don’t care. If we are given the honor of hosting our country’s national team, we begin work that day to make June historic. We will thank the USSF through this site, and use it to blow up the pre-game, in-game, and post-game plans. We want to throw the most successful US Gold Cup celebration, and the best American Outlaws party ever. Buckle your seatbelts, boys and girls This is going to be one amazing summer for soccer in Kansas City.
This short message is what we're putting in the boxes of Sunil and Jack Warner in about an hour. Feel free to copy and paste this and send it to anyone you can think of after about 9:30am To whom it may concern, Kansas City is honored to be named a 2011 Gold Cup host. We would especially like the distinct honor of hosting the US Men’s National Team this June. Please look over our resume. It’s been 10 years since we last had “a job”, and with our new stadium, beautiful city, and passionate supporters, we think we deserve it. #givekcajob http://www.AOKCdoesnotstop.com Thanks for your time, American Outlaws Kansas City Chapter & the Kansas City Cauldron
Until there is a way to attach hundred dollar bills to email, Jack Warner will probably not bother to learn how to use it.
Just a heads up, you can go to US Soccer. com and click contact us. Pulls up a form. You can fill out your message once, use the drop down to send it to a department and click send. Then hit the back button on your browser, your info and message will still be there. Change the department in the drop down, click send....add water and repeat! Just sent my message to every department listed, took less than a minute!
Not to sound too harsh, but it doesn't seem like filling up the inboxes of a bunch of completely unrelated departments is exactly going to endear us to people.
http://www.facebook.com/officialussoccer/posts/203294273014293 This was worth it, if only for the Seattle butthurt. Well put together guys though, really.
Haven't had much rage today until I read some of those quotes. "god forbid we show a rawkus soccer field in Seattle where al the games would be sold out no no no lets show them half empty Kansas Cty every day. USA!" Really doesn't quite get that we could easily pull in 50,000, but we're going to be in a stadium that can hold 18,500 plus standing room only crowds. It's gonna be a supply in demand type situation, people are gonna be clamoring and begging for tickets.
******** Seattle. One day somebody will crucify one of those dick heads and give them something to really be offended by. Are they the biggest cry babies in pro sport right now??
Even though USSF isn't the one choosing locations, and I assume the groups are set already, it was an awesome feeling to get a shout from US Soccer today on the website.
Yes, and looking past the seattle "half empty stadium" in Kansas City quotes, its interesting that in 2009 when they hosted a gold cup game 15,387 people showed up to qwest, the lowest attendance for the USA in that gold cup.
That's what I wanted to say (but I don't have a facebook account)!! Of course they'd say "bleh, non of the 'real' usmnt players were there", and I'd be like, tough titty, dude, you gotta represent mutha 'uckah!
