Velez joins Vicente Figueroa and Brian Farber on the Cougars’ injured reserve list. Thirteen different Cougars players have been listed on the team’s injury report over the first 18 games of the year. Six players have missed three or more games this season due to injuries. Five players (Antonio Sutton, Ryan Hall, Chris Handsor, Figueroa and Farber) have missed five or more games. Only Craig Scheer, Matt Caution and Evan McNeley have played in all 18 games this season. All three players (Scheer, Caution and McNeley) have been listed as probable before a game this season.
What is going on out there? The Cougars started the season so well and are now being desimated by injuries. I have to say that some of the new faces on the team have been doing well. Hopefully some of these guys get back soon, we would hate to see the season lost over so many injuries.
I saw Velez at the game today. He has a beautiful family. Bummer for him, he really was coming into his own this season.
