I'm a Cablevision customer who has the IO digital service and was told by my local rep that the Shootout package would not be available this year. My local rep then gave me the phone number of Cablevision's Director of Programming office in Long Island. I spoke to a nice woman who explained that there hasn't been enough interest in the package for Cablevision to offer it. The number for Cablevision's main office is (516) 803-2300. Then ask for the Director of Programming's office. The woman with whom I spoke said that "this is where the decisions get made." Please be polite. Please let them know that we want to give them money. Please don't harrass them. We want soccer fans to look good...and profitable for them.
I suppose there "hasn't been enough interest" in the YES Network for them to carry that, either. Must be why they pulled out of the deal. Cablevision's so full of crap they're brown.
Moderators: please make this a "sticky" I will do this as soon they open Monday, and will repeat often. I urge other I/O digital customers of cablevision to do the same, and do it often. Repeat: The number for Cablevision's main office is (516) 803-2300. Then ask for the Director of Programming's office. The woman with whom I spoke said that "this is where the decisions get made."
Just called Cablevision and spoke to Barbara in the Director of Programming's office. As I first indicated that I was not calling about the YES network, she then guessed that I was calling about the MLS Shootout package, as she said she had received several calls about it. I indicated that, as our area is about to be upgraded to IO, I would be a customer of the MLS Shootout package were they to offer it. She indicated that these kinds of calls were helpful, and that she would make sure that the "powers that be" were aware of the requests. No guarantees that they'll offer it, but the more who ask for it, the more likely we'll get it. George
Cablevision sucks BIG TIME. I had numerous problems with them as used to have their TV service and I still have Optimum online. I Switched to Directv last year and life is sweet.
Looks like a number of people are calling. She didn't even ask me if I was calling about YES. She automatically assumed I was calling about the Shootout package. Barbara said that while there was no guarantee, she indicated that things "mght change" due to the number of calls they were receiving. It would help if they believed all these calls were independently made and not as a result of an internet campaign.
The irony here, of course, is that Cablevision owns the MSG Network and they do such a good job with the local Metrostars broadcasts and pre-game shows. Not to mention post-game highlights, as well. Is there anyone at MSG we could get to put in a good word to their bosses at Cablevision? One more time... Here's their main number in Long Island: (516) 803-2300. Ask for the Director of Programming. And please be nice.
Talk about a difference..after reading this post I thought "hmm.. I should subscribe to the shootout package on my DirectTV" So I went to the site.. and the Shootout package is actually highlighted on the main page! DirecTV hightlights it. Cablevision kills it.
I had my shootout package with Direct TV for the past few years, and they renew it automaticly, it's great. Now my Direct TV is at my office, and cablevision at home. I'll wait a few days and make the call to help out as much as I can.
I called this morning, was told I was second person today. It doesn't matter why people are calling. If it's due to an internet campaign all the better. I hadn't called before, becuase I thought it was a direct TV exclusive, I didn't realize that cablevsion could carry it. Let them know
Now that they don't have any more peopel angry about not having YES calling, they should have plenty of time for us.
The Fox Sports World MLS lineup is excellent. But I still want the Shootout to be shown on Cablevision. Anyone else here call Cablevision? How did you do? Perhaps Shep could put in a good word. Here's Cablevision's main number again: (516) 803-2300. Ask for the Director of Programming...and ask for the Shootout package...and ask nicely.
I just called Cablevision's Director of Programming's office. The nice woman who fields phone calls said "we weren't originally planning to offer it, but we've gotten a lot of phone calls and now we might." Keep up the good work everybody. We're making progress. Here's the number again: (516) 803-2300, and then ask for the Director of Programming's office.
bump This is about getting cablevision to offer mls shootout to its customers. This is NOT another infommercial about the virtues of directv, dish, etc.
In my call today, I mentioned that one of their own companies, msg, produces a great amount of the content of the mls shootout package. I presume that if cablevision offers the shootout, they will black out the metros games that are already offered in a premium package. The lady seem perturbed by all the calls. Keep up the good work, and a lot of thanks to all those "I"-"O" digital customers with the "silver package" who are calling in.
I also just called Cablevision and spoke with Barbara. She said they are considering making this package available. Come on guys, everybody get on Cablevision's case. Peace
This may make Cablevision customers feel better: ----------- DirectTV MLS SHOOTOUT is not available at this time. Please check back closer to the start of the season. 1 day isn't soon enough?
Directv DOES have Shootout available, you just cant order it on their website yet. I called and ordered it the other day.
I just called the number they show on the TV and told the guy who answered that i was interested in updating my cable to iO Digitable Cable. I then asked him if they would be offering the MLS Shootout package. He had no idea what MLS was....I told him it was the soccer package that Direct TV offers ...He's like no we dont have that, but we have baseball..I told him i could care less about baseball adn the only reason i would want the iO Service would be for the shootout. He then said he'd waive the installation fee if i still wanted it. Im gonna call the # thats posted in this thread on monday.
