A new century. A new season. A new hope. Rough end of the Apertura, but it's a short turnaround for the next season. Already time to think about the future. As always, we should be a favorite going in. Marchesín should be an upgrade. It'd be nice to get Paul Aguilar back at some point this season, but I'm not holding my breath.
The transferable list: Carlos Darwin Quintero – Delantero Erik Alan Pimentel – Defensa Luis Donaldo Pineda – Portero Rubens Oscar Sambueza – Medio
So the 18-year-old Paraguayan kid they brought in, Cristian Paredes, his club in Paraguay was Sol de América. This is their badge: I suppose that should help the kid make for an easy transition.
http://www.record.com.mx/futbol-fut...orres-cerca-de-emprender-el-vuelo-con-america Apparently we're close to signing a 19-year-old Tico by the name of Gerson Torres. He currently plays for Herediano. If he's brought in for the first team, then I would think we'd need to dump another extranjero.
That's short-term thinking. We need to be champs this year and in 6 years. It's not like this kid (or the Tico if he is signed) are being brought in to be impact starters. Infusing some youth in the roster is never a bad thing. It is risky, and expensive, to bring in new vets every year or two. That lack of stability can lead to some disastrous seasons. I like developing young talent alongside established veterans. That being said, I would like to see an established midfielder with creativity come in to replace Sambu.
I agree. But I don't think getting a young talent is what is stopping us from getting the big-time player. Ultimately, the failure was not getting someone better than Chino before the Apertura. The Summer window is generally better for bringing high end talent.
Is @LGRod still denying his true self? I thought for sure he'd be following his heart by this point. Okay, LG, let's do this song and dance again. You pretend to be upset again about being summoned, yet you never want to leave. You have a home here, my hidden Americanista.
América, interesado en Castillo; traspaso depende del Trabzonspor http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/2...-en-castillo-traspaso-depende-del-trabzonspor Castillo is currently on loan in Turkey with Trabzonspor. They have until Saturday to purchase him outright, otherwise FC Dallas can sell him to us. Based on his quotes, it sounds like he'd rather come here.
Trabzonspor completes transfer deal for Fabian Castillo http://www.fcdallas.com/post/2017/01/06/trabzonspor-completes-transfer-deal-fabian-castillo Damn. I think he would have been a good pick-up.
Our first opponents, Toluca, just won 4-1. But it was against Atlas, so I don't know how much that counts. So, what are the guesses on the line-up. I'm thinking it'll probably look something like this:
