I know Cristiano doesn't sound right for some reason, and it's confusing to call him Ronaldo, but what is with the whole "C-Ron" deal, American's seem to love using it (T-Mac for Tracy McGrady, T-New for Terrence Newman, etc)... why not just call him CybertRON, at least that's funny... or Cristy... yea, from now on I'm calling the guy Cristy
As with many other American cultural points, the blame for that naming convention can be traced to one Jennifer Lopez, who started it all with her album titled "J-Lo". After that it spread to baseball star Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod), and from that point seemingly every celebrity on earth. The only one that's really funny is basketball player Kenyon Martin, aka K-Mart. I still say Cristiano... it is kinda weird though.
Try borrowing from another American convention (the infomercial...) with this one: RonCo... "Set it... And Forget It!"
I'd have to agree with you there... SportsCenter is in fact to blame for all of this 2 syllable nonsense... they like the catch phrase... I think we should call him Chris... a good British (I'm assuming) name. Or perhaps Rono but only after Keano retires... and perhaps Christy like the others mentioned but then we could not call Scholes Scholesy anymore... but that is not such a bad thing anyway... But... all of this is conjecture as after Robben's arrival next year and his replacement of Giggs in the team in the year after Cristiano, playing alongside Robben will no doubt have to be called... Batman!!!
Hmm, come to think of it, you might be right. Rodriguez has been around for a while, so its very possible. Well then I'll just shift the blame to those wh0res at ESPN.
C-Ron Actually, the reason this thread is getting bumped is that I clicked on Thread(next to Thread Starter). Is the default view "Last Post"?
i just say Ronaldo, if in conversation we are clearly talking about A) United B) a good player right now C) someone who is not fat D) a cnut On msn i use CRonaldo sometimes my friends say cronaldo as in [cron]-[aldo]
Billy, I would have thought Cristy Moore had the Cristy name copyrighted... Anyway, I use CR7 in text messages to refer to him.
Ronaldo is no Joxer! It's good to see that the C-Ron fad wore off... but this is the most random bump I've come across in a long time.
Just call him "That Boy Ronaldo", this old timer i talk to @ Fado sometimes just calls him that all the time its kinda humorous.
But if they are sorting by characters sequentially, the scapegoat thread should be behind Big Ron and C-Ron, right?
