So my long standing and much maligned suggestion of setting up shop in Mississauga actually has some legs to it. Nice. I'm wondering if the Vancouver group is looking at Surrey or Burnaby.
Looks like it's coming http://www.thespec.com/news-story/6261090-canadian-pro-soccer-league-to-call-hamilton-home/
Still its not a formal announcement.... Still exciting nonetheless! The west coast still needs a viable D3 to happen in general and to help make this league work. I'd be looking for Hamilton to start a League1 Ontario team next year, as a cue for the announcement. Also look for the CSA to be phasing out other PDL clubs in the coming years, unfortunately that means the Highlanders, FootHills, WSA, Chill, & K-W United. Pay close attention to the PLSQ (for expansion next year) to see if the rumours that MTL will get a team is true as well. Certainly one to watch!
The OSA has already told the Ontario-based PDL teams that this is their last year in the league. I'm not opposed to moving Canadian PDL teams to viable Canadian D3 leagues where they exist. I'd like to see some flexibility for teams like Thunder Bay and Victoria, however, where geography conspires against participating in a Canadian league.
