Nothing on the official site yet, so perhaps this should be in the 'Transfers / Rumours' thread.

Still, the only thing Josemi has managed to settle in to is a steady stream of abuse (at least from folks on these boards), so I'm assuming this is a good move. I confess I know absolutely nothing about Jan Kromkamp.

    Anyone else?

(Note to self: Read all the other threads before posting).

Don't forget that Josemi helped us win the CL for the sixth time! He haven't been very good for us and it's good of Rafa to exchange him for another player that may or may not work out better in Pool. He has not been working in Spain. I think both players will be happy and play better football. This player ain't gonna strengthen the first team but he deffinately strengthens the squad by being a good sub for Finnan when we need to score.

And how did he do that? We've only won it 5 times. He tried but was simply found wanting --- farewell.

Got to sugar coat everything, don't you?

They should give him a special medal for his 6th CL Cup win.

I'll mark this thread just in case Josemi does go to spain and somehow manages to achieve this feat.

A great deal -- getting more than a fiver for Hose-me is tremendous business. This guy has been capped for Holland so how bad could he be?

Yes indeed. I've never seen the guy but Finnan works hard and deserves a brake now and then, nice thing is (as someone pointed out) he's a decent half back as well.

And Villareal payed 7 million for him. Thats a lot for a fullback.

Kromkamp had some injury problems over the summer so his form has been off but he's very solid. Very good move by the 'Pool methinks and good move for Kromkamp, hope he sorts out his form in time for the WC

Any chance Rafa could be trying to change Kromkamp into a CB?

I think not -- this is just better cover for Finnan. We will get another center half in the next week or two. Wait and see about a right sided midfielder.

If Kromkamp is on form, Finnan is cover for him, not vice-versa.

    As is Erik Meijer.

But I agree - Kronkamp is a solid piece of business for a squad player. Although it's a slight shame we didn't give Raven the chance to become Finnan's proper back-up once it became clear Josemi wanted out.

If he does, then it is a great bit of business.

Well, villareals loss will be our gain.Hes is a farrrrrrrr better player than josemi will ever be,and thats why villareal payed the money they did in the summer.Villareal are foolish to sell him now, only after 6 months of being at the club.

But i dont see why we should be complaining.Atleast now well be able to rest Finnan!

Josemi was actually pretty good going forward and he also had very good long throws, he is a usefull player, but the problem was defending. He shared this move with my dog...and i mean exactly the same move...where you run full blast than suddenly dive straight at the foot with your head. than, use that momentum you have built to somersault-flop right onto your back, 4 legs kicking, as a prelude invitation to a good belly rub.

Tons of fun in a dog. not great in a rb.

So this guy is hard, fast, young attacking defender. Certainly willing to trot him out there 'ave a look, thats for sure. could be a great swap.

Myself, i think Finnan's grown immensly the last couple of years i really like his game at the moment. If Krokmamp can push him for a spot we just got real good at rb. Even if he just can spell him well 1/3 the time that would be just great.

caveat: i still suffer from pellegrino nightmares where he falls and falls in slow motion but never hits the ground :D so lets see the lad play. fingers crossed.

Good luck with Kromkamp..you will need it. Attacking wise he is everything you could wish for from a rightback...but defensive he sucks horseballs.
