wow. I must say, this was unexpected. If you haven't read the details see below - [LINK]http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m...1/28/javier-aquino-se-va-al-villarreal[/LINK] I really would have preferred this to happen after Clausura. Glad for Aquino, but this hurts the team. Aquino has that creative spark that the team needs in order to generate offense. We won't be the same without him. Barrera is supposed to be back in a few weeks, so hopefully he'll step up his game because the team is really going to need that.
Cementera4, lets cry together girl and listen to vicente fernandez in response to Aqueeno leaving CA...
Can't believe they let him leave in the middle of the season. We're going to miss him in our attack. Barrera isn't even ready yet and by the time he gains form the season is going to be over. It's a good move for Aquino. I don't know much about Villareal but i'm sure he'll be starting.
So how much did they let him go for? I don't know that Cruz Azul had too much of a choice. Either peanuts now or nothing in six months. I think he would have been a free agent by June.
I've seen various reports on twitter saying they got no more than 2.5 million Euros. They dun goofed when they didn't sign him to a longer deal earlier.
They dun goofed alright. I've heard he was still making youth player salary, maybe what 60-70k a year? (guessing). They should have renegotiated his contract right after the Olympics. Give the guy 50% increase, and he stays.
I doubt it was that low. He supposed to be valued at 1.8-2 mill pound sterling. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/javier-aquino/profil/spieler_111082.html
Another good read from Quintano on whether Cruz Azul got a good deal or a bad deal on the Aquino release. http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m...uz-azul-no-perdio-con-aquino-asegura-quintano Possible translations - 1) I haven't a clue but guys smarter than me tell me that we didn't get screwed. or 2) We got screwed but I don't want to admit that to the press so I will feign ignorance.
