No but he is quietly breaking up more plays than any other. His passing a bit off too but to be expected

Goalkeeper Marcus Schubert's pass is intercepted and midfield and Dortmund counter for a second goal.

    2-0 HT

McKennie with a bunch of interceptions and recoveries. There seems to be a lot of space in the central midfield leading to 2 on 1s or free player's in the defensive midfield.

McKennie's has missed some passes though he did start one of the better Schalke moves of the half when he intercepted a pass at midfield and played a pass for a counter.

    First goal:

What the hell was that "social distancing/Jaden Sancho remix tape" thing?

The Bundesliga halftime content is always ********ing weird.

Fun to hear the club names spoken in German though.

Judging by the comments on Twitter, I'm the only one who likes the empty stadium audio. I'm a sucker for the "thud" of the ball.

If you're going to tactical foul, got to have faster tactics.

Dortmund with a third on a counter.

McKennie played and a ball forward and moved into space. Caliguri lost it and Dortmund coutner. Schubert made a mess of the Hazard shot though and a Sane tactical foul did stop Haaling from being able to play a critical pass.

    The second goal:

Way to go Germany! As usual leading the world in everything, especially rational thinking and good margins.

S04 remain a good coach with no talent. Same story for the last 5 or 6 years. When 'Red Shoe Diaries' Delaney is bossing the midfield you know you're not good.

Dortmund easily passing around the S04 midfield side to side and killing the game. Except when they get the ball right down the middle and carve up the the central midfield and defense like they just did.

THings that remain ridiculous: no crowds? Cheesy masks? No celebrations?

Hasn’t been his best day but WM is clearly the best Schalke player and this would be 5 or 6 - 0 without him.

There's still plenty of time for that to happen.

These games feel like a glorified training game but are better than nothing.

Sancho set to come on. Announcers state that they believe Gio got “a little pull” prior to the game and don’t think it’s anything serious.

Goretzka used to play that quasi 6 position and he would break up plays and jump start the break with great touch and attacking passes. They should never have traded him. Then McK could play the classic 'energy' american role of whatever it is he is good at. I forget.

Goretzka decided to join BM when his contract expired. He wasn’t sold. Schalke can only do so much. If a player wants to leave when his contract runs out there’s nothing they can do.

I thought the game was pretty boring.

I would have broke the bank for him. He doesn't even start regularly for BM...or didn't or whatever. who knows now. I would have kept Di Matteo (I'd hire him in a heart beat) and Goretzka and gutted the rest of it and started over.
