What of Kroos, Hargreaves.
I replied to this at the Other Teams' News thread. This was no longer about BVB......
What are you smoking??
2014 - La Liga champs, CL finalists.
2013 - CDR champs and competed for the league title almost until the last month.
2012 - EL champions.
2010 - EL champions and CDL finalists.
All this with a budget about the same or smaller than Leverkusen and competing with not one but TWO clubs who have a budget bigger than Bayern's.
Atletico didn't sign Mandzukic to scare Barca and Madrid. They don't have to. Barca are the new Madrid. Too much money, not enough brains. Madrid will continue to have ego problems. Probably will get worse now that the players have won La Decima.
I'll take this a bit further and say Gundogan is definitely leaving. If he stagnates, he'll become a Sahin and we already have one of those. Gundogan only resigned because he realized there was personal gain in NOT resigning.
Reus might have a change of heart. Hopefully Hummels, Subotic and Kuba can convince him to stay.
Thinking about it, If Kroos moves to Madrid I think he would most likely fail and sit on the bench, He would want out in 18months and by then Gundogan might have actually retired or left.
Kroos wont go back to Bayern then so BvB maybe?
You're joking or serious? Why would Kroos fail at Madrid? Both teams have similar players all over the pitch (RB being the lone exception). Kroos played well in Jupp's system and again under Pep's system. He's flexible and can play a variety of different positions. Carlo wants him because he's been tasked with making Madrid more attractive i.e. play with more possession and vertical/diagonal passes.
Even if he fails, I don't think he'd want to return to Germany. Only way I see him even considering Dortmund is if we win the CL. Not once has he mentioned that he wants to stay in Germany...at least I haven't read it anywhere. He wants more money and we cannot afford to pay him 10M. We won't be able to pay anybody that much until we savour at least another 2-3 years of coming 1st/2nd in BuLi and steady and at least 1/4 final appearances in the CL.
I think Kroos is a player who wants to play all the time
Madrid in midfield have Modric, Khedira, Di Maria, Xabi, Isco, Illara. plus the new flavour Madrid buys every season
I also think Kroos is better suited to a slower and possession based team like Barcelona or Bayern
Kroos needs to play every game for his confidence which he cant get at Madrid
If Kheidra can win a spot at Madrid, so can Kroos.
If Kroos goes to Madrid...he is an instant starter, and Madrid wants to be more of a possession side, I'm guessing he would play next to Modrid with Xabi or Illaramendi deep
Let's ask this question the other way. Which of the aforementioned midfielders is better than Kroos? It's not who Kroos will replace but who is good enough to push him out of the line-up.
I am just surprised he didn't to to Chelsea, City or Liverpool. They both could use a player like him and nobody would have to compete as much. And the money wouldn't have been a problem either.
That would play a similar role to Kroos in a 4-3-3? Only Modric.
Kroos was better under Jupp with a much faster transition game.
Juup was also quite slow in buildup the time when we became faster in transition was when Kroos got injured and Muller played as 10
Kroos will be the free kick & corner taker for Real. Xabi is on his way out
Barca is clueless signing Neymar & Suarez while their defense is in shambles. Should have sent a boat load of cash for Hummels instead. He's ideal for them
Barca would have found it easier to pry away Thiago Silva and Marquinos.
I'll bet my left hand that Hummels isn't going anywhere this summer.
You seem to have a lot of bets going on concurrently
It's this and the Germany sig bet, right?
Khedira is off to Arsenal.....early this week Khedira refused two year extension..arsenal in advanced talks with agent...
it also helps that Ozil is best friends at Arsenal
Kroos will slide in at real madrid
If I were Wenger, I'd at least try to get Kroos, I mean he's cheap at 25 mil. Only the salary would be tough. But an Ozil, Khedira and Kroos Midfield three would be interesting
midfield is already "crowded".....
wenger is designing team around Ozil...with Sanchez, Walcott, Ramsey, Ox (Ganbry), and even Khedira providing movement, pace, and runs....
Is Ginter ours yet?
I think we'll see movement after the World Cup.
Not yet. But this is almost certain to happen. As MatthausSammer said, there should be actual action on it after the World Cup.
SCF have certainly shifted in terms of how they speak about it. I guess its just a matter of money now. Im hoping for one more attacking creative attacking player too.
