The draw couldn't have gone better for us. If we don't top this group then it will be nothing short of embarrasing.
According to Rose's press conference, Haaland will not be available for tomorrows game either. Emre Can will be in the squad after his injury but Reyna will not be fit until after the international break.
Great news for us. Bayern dropped some points. This should hopefully gives us some confidence and players can rest and recharge during the international break. I still think we need to sign a winger in January, but whilst not playing well we are picking up wins.
Recent interview with Nagelsmann and he talked about another big German club that was in negotiations with him 3 times, all failed due to various reasons. Although the club wasn't named, it's presumed that it was Dortmund who wanted him in 2018. We might have won the league with him...and then he would have eventually joined Bayern anyways.
If we win the next match against Wolfsburg then we go into the Bayern match, at home, with a chance to overtake them (assuming they also win against Bielefeld.) It will be a big statement if we overtake them by beating them. They are very beatable, and we need to cement that into the minds of all other BL teams, and to creep some self-doubt into them. We just have too much to gain in that match against them.
So, this is the list of our possible opponents in KO playoff round: - Rangers - Real Sociedad - Napoli - Olympiakos - Lazio - Braga - Real Betis - Dinamo Zagreb Napoli would be the toughest one IMO, as they want to win everything they can in memory of Maradona. The rest shouldn't be too hard as long as we don't underestimate them and our squad is healthy.
So Rangers it'll be for the playoff round. One of the more doable match ups and I'd expect Dortmund to get past them barring any major slip ups Knockout round play-off draw ✅🤩 Which game are you looking forward to most? #UELdraw | #UEL pic.twitter.com/J7q7sJDiCs— UEFA Europa League (@EuropaLeague) December 13, 2021
Why are people on Twitter crying that the league is over and why is Watzke saying this kind of crap too? 6 point difference by winter break means it's over?
why r u surprised? watzke been bitching that its ok being 2nd best to bayern for many years now, hes just a broken record
Just a reminder that this is the very same fanbase that celebrated the 2018-19 season as a success despite throwing away a 9 point lead.
Between the DFB Pokal and Europa League, the objective should remain for both trophies of course. But just assessing things realistically, I think the Pokal would be a more achievable. Looking past the loss to Hertha today, the competition among domestic clubs seems more manageable in general. There's still a lot of question marks the club needs to address in the winter break. And the opposition clubs in the EL will still remain tough, especially towards the later stages
The issues that need to be addressed the most are our defensive structure and our fitness/medical team. Defensive structure seems to be Rose's biggest issue as a coach, and he also showed an inability to win key games.
▶️ According to SPORT1, many players feel that their own rehabilitation and athletics staff are not in good enough hands and prefer to do their fitness programmes outside Dortmund or in cooperation with external trainers. Well it comes as no surprise with all these injusry issues ove rthe past couple of years. This mnay muscular injuries should not be happening as this rate.

There is only one goal left for us this season. ********ing. Beat. Bayern. It's the one thing left for us to do and it will be a strong message for next season, for prospective signings, and for the mentality of the team.
Yeah. If we lose next Saturday Bayern will undoubtedly use their title victory to rub it in our faces, so we better postpone their party for at least another week. That being said, the 2017 DFB-Pokal semi-finals marked the last time we beat Bayern when it genuinely, really, truly mattered.
So return to the old Kit with the vertical line... What do you think? If we go back to our old mentality to go with it, I'm all for it!!! If not it could feel like a desecration...
