You guys kill me with this crap.

Klose is a guy who went to Bayern for money. And he's now sorry he did.

Yes, he made his money there. He's now looking to finish his career with some glory.

I'm not saying he'll play somewhere for no money. However, playing CL football and in front of over 80,000 fans each home match has its appeals to a guy like Klose too.

But of course, with some of you, everything is about money and nothing else.......

It is interesting how quickly the pendulum swings. 4-2-3-1, 4-3-2-1, and 4-3-3 took the world by storm the past few seasons but it seems like teams are already starting to go back to 4-4-2 and those that aren't have fans that are clamoring for it. There is simply too much asked of the lone striker leading the line and not enough players in the world who can perform it adequately.

klose doesn't have the 7 mil a year to give up on. his bayern contract expires this summer.

why should the salary from that contract be in any way relevant?

Even with his contract about to expire and him undoubtedly reaching the tail end of a long career, I never could see him settling for less than 50% of what he was making at Bayern. Our highest paid player is in the 2.5million range - I think it would only cause trouble to bring him in at quite a bit more than that.

And I'm sorry to say, but I do believe that money talks in most cases. Schweinsteiger re-discovered his love for FCB only after Hoeness opened the money bag just to name one example.

    Thank you.

I'm happy someone else can see past what too many think is the obvious.

Because Schweinsteiger is WORTH THAT MONEY to FC Bayern.

I really get sick of people who talk like football players and athletes in general are somehow "less good" or "less nice" if they fight for the money they are worth!

I agree. Some players are simply worth every penny and deserve to get paid as much as they possibly can.

I agree, in part. I believe Schweinsteiger's team did a great job of playing the field and reports of interest by Inter/Real/etc. drove the price up that high. It worked out perfectly and played on Hoeness' fear of strengthening the competition for a future Champions League campaign.

of course the Bundesliga only has one (!) central defender of international quality. Typical Kicker nonsense.

(Off-Topic: Could a US resident please do me a favor and check whether http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=160116 this is a full replay of the U20 game between USA - Panama? )
