Friends, I have the good luck to have married a wonderful Turkish woman. We are traveling to see our in-laws (her father) in Istanbul this December/January. I would love to attend the Fenerbahche/Kardemir Karabük on the 22 of December. I am having some trouble finding info on how to buy tickets. Can anyone reccomend a good way to do this? Do games generally sell out or can I buy tickets the day of the game. Also it looks like the Turkish Super Liga takes a break from the 22 of December through the 19th of January. Are there any other games to go see? I would love to see some second division games if there are any happening. Thanks very much for any help!!!!!
hi.. first, congrats and have a nice travel... second... see biletix.com , biletix is a company that organizes the ticket saling works of many clubs'. you can use visa-maestro etc. bu no idea about the credit cards of different countries'. you can see that website. i dunno where will you stay in istanbul. istanbul has two sides. a sea seperates her and Fenerbahçe neighbourhood stays at the eastern part. you can use metrobus if you are at the western side. the last station, the söğütlüçeşme station is about 15 minutes by walk to the stadium. by ship, you can pass from beşiktaş, karaköy or eminönü to kadıköy, too. then you will walk about 10 minutes. But, if you are at the eastern part, Kadıköy buseswill bring you to to stadium. Yes, there is a break in the winter. But, its duration changes every year. You can not see other leagues' matches during that break, either. And teams go to hot provinces, especially to Antalya in winter for camping. So, hard to see a match out of officals but maybe you can catch a friendly match. Good luck!
kona-thanks so much for your advice. I will check out biletix. Our dates moved a little bit---we are arriving later but are staying longer so it looks likes I will be able to see a fenerbahche as well as a galatasaray game. Thanks again
Keep us posted how it goes and share your experiences... Are you a Galatasaray fan or a Fenerbahce fan? Just make sure you don;t wear the wrong uniform near the other team's stadium...
