Does anyone have any word on potential buyers for the Railhawks? I heard they have just 2 months to find a buyer.
Beckham has given up on Miami. He loves eating at Bida Manda and he loves Eastern NC bbq, and so he wants to move and live in Raleigh. He wants to buy the RailHawks and promote them to MLS and build a stadium at Atlantic Ave & Wicker Dr (across from Big Boss and Blackjack Breweries - tearing down the recycling center). He is pushing for Raleigh to build their light rail line and have a station where the tracks cross at Whitaker Mill Rd. I think that's what I heard. I could be wrong.
Johnson: It's "business as usual" for Carolina RailHawks http://www.wralsportsfan.com/johnson-it-s-business-as-usual-for-carolina-railhawks/14678166/ Johnson said he and the rest of the front office personnel in Cary continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the club. The week’s events have not inhibited the club’s normal course of business, nor halted negotiations and planning surrounding possible exhibition matches and other events slated for the rest of the year. “We’re operating as business as usual. And we’re executing our 2015 plan as we were a week ago,” said Johnson.
I really do not see the Railhawks being too excited about having Beckham involved with the team. Might sell a few more Railhawks' jerseys but not much else.
I assumed he was joking. Since they Railhawks have been for sale for such a long period of time, I'm assuming anyone with any money locally has been touched. So now it would have to be out of town $$$$$$$$$$ - which could always mean a move in the future.
Yes, I was joking. Of course. Here's my serious addition to the conversation; the thinking is that Traffic USA will have some urgency to sell the team and therefore will be willing to let it go at a lower price. Various media seems to imply that Traffic USA wants to drop it and refocus itself while dealing with the scandal. That is why local investors are back in play. They might be able to buy it for less than what was previously asked for.
TSF has called upon NASL to revoke Traffic Sports USA's franchise rights. We encourage all fans of the RailHawks, NASL, and soccer in general to sign our petition. http://trisoccerfan.com/openletter

Go into a five-month old thread to post a story from a month and a half ago. Yeah, that sounds about right.
Finally waving bye bye to Traffic? Can it be? http://www.wralsportsfan.com/triang...quire-railhawks-from-traffic-sports/14993631/
Well, this is could be a great thing for the fans of the Railhawks. It will be great to have a local owner again and hopefully a greater sense of stability than the club has had ever since the indictments and bans came down against the current ownership. Congratulations!
On Sept. 28, Articles of Organization of “Carolina FC LLC” were filed with the N.C. Secretary of State’s office. Malik is listed as the limited liability company’s registered agent. Hopefully Carolina FC is just the generic name he chose for the legal entity he will use to own the club. It would be a shame to see RailHawks be replaced with FC.
Not to me - the name is unique, and is not alliterative like a middle school team (you hear me, Tennessee Titans.) as an outsider, I kinda think it is a cool team name.
I like the name RailHawks as well. Calling the team Carolina FC is such a letdown. But it could also be just the name of the entity. I don't know what the name is of the current Railhawks entity that is owned by Traffic but i am assuming the new entity would have a different name. Well if the fans like the name, they need to let the club know. I recall a recent survey for Railhawks fans asking them about the team name and colors.

No mention of whether he plans to continue the Railhawks relationship with the academy team. I hope that he will.
