I don’t know what’s more ridiculous: that Diego Simeone’s son is scoring goals for fun for Verona, or that they have a player named Kevin Lasagna.
Tessmann won a tackle at midfield, but the ensuing play leads to a quick attack by Hellas Verona and Simeone finishing off a hat trick. Delicious assist by Lasagna.
Kevin Lasagna, for sure. Because he's a legit Italian and not a 5th generation Italian-American from Desmoines.
Tessmann subs on in the 75th minute for Vacca. The bad news is they conceded four, including three on penalties, before he came on. Shaded left in a three man midfield. Just made a nice pass to Nsame, who nearly makes something happen, but Sassuolo does well to close him down.
Red card to Zanetti for arguing for a penalty. Then the ref awards the same penalty after looking at it on VAR. Tessmann was involved two passes before the Nsame play that drew the penalty. Aramu's penalty saved extremely well, lower corner shot that the keeper gets a hand to and controls the rebound.
If I gave the other team three penalties, a manager could really go off on me before I'd even give a yellow, I'm sure the more professional referees around here would tell me I'm wrong, but I would definitely take the abuse and let the guy blow off some steam. I wouldn't expect the red to be rescinded, though.
That's one way to get your name on the scoresheet. Is Zanetti managing (or is he serving a suspension)?
Busio takes a hard hit to the head on a clean battle for a header. and Venezia went down a man on a second yellow to Henry, which may bury this one.
The loss seems to go down to gifted goals, and it’s yet another painful loss for Venezia. Busio was not peak Busio.
Busio starts in the number 10 position for Venezia https://t.co/WKO3ajrkwe— USMNT 🇺🇸 Thoughts (@USMNT_Thoughts) April 10, 2022 Busio starts, Tessmann on the bench. Seeing different formation ideas online, so just as well it's time for kickoff. Trying to break a five game losing streak an battle out of the relegation zone.
