...Yes, THAT Fred Thompson, who will help shepherd the SOTUS nominee to replace O'Connor...whoever he or she is...through the Senate confirmation process. A brilliant maneuver. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000103&sid=aQXA4TyiLfzA&refer=us Man, what a resume. -- JD Vanderbilt. --Watergate counsel. --Head of Dulles Airport in Die Hard II ("Ok, let's rack 'em, stack 'em, and pack 'em!!" (yes, you can make an argument he's a way better actor than Dennis Franz, let alone Bruce Willis). --Senator from Tennessee. A nice career interlude. --Manhattan district attorney Arthur Branch on Law and Order (yes, you can make an argument that he's a WAY better actor than Sam Waterston). --Ex boyfriend of country singer Lorrie Morgan (do I hear the phrase...um... "she's been around the block once or twice"?) --Became a father at 61 with current wife Jeri (already had children and grandchildren) Who said Man, only in America. This is why I love this country!!
Something must be wrong. I agree with Kooky Karl. Big Fred is a good choice to shepard Bush's SC pick. Does this mean Big Fred is the next SC nominee?
What's wrong with Sam Waterston's acting? He's not the world's best thespian, but he aint horrible (which is more than I can say for his son, who was the only bad actor in Dead Poet's Society). Incidentally, McCoy's looking pretty damned old this season. He may be joining Detective Brisco in that great rerun in the sky before we know it. As for Thompson, he's not a bad actor. He's personable, which is what they'll need to make compromise happen. He's nowhere near as good as Schiff, but ten times better than DA Lewin.
Senator Fred Thompson is an excellent choice to shepherd the President's Supreme Court nominee through the many snake pits and vulture attacks which are expected from the liberals. Another brilliant move by the White House!
He would be a TERRIBLE choice! Don't any of you remember that he fired Serena Southerlyn, his highly capable and highly successful assistant DA? Sure, he claimed it was because she was too much of an "advocate" for the other side--as if that advocacy didn't enrich their understanding of the defendent and allow them to present a better case--but we all know that he really fired her because she was a lesbian.
Um, for those touting him as some great actor...did you see him in Roseanne? If he'd a had a mustache, he would have twirled it while talking to this staff.
I'm not really a guy for whom breasts are a big deal. More of a leg and ass man myself. But Jill, honey, you've got to have more rack than a dude. Just gotta.
True story.....I went rafting down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon several years ago. Over the five days you get to know you're fellow rafters. One of them was a D.A. in Morganthau's office. He said that Waterson hung out with him and some of his colleagues for a couple of weeks before he took the L&O role. Said he was a very cool guy and would pick up the bar tab every night.
Funny... I thought she brought a fresh approach to Deputy DA office and represented the character actor part (Serena Southerlyn) well... as a German actress she also seemed to represent legal office worker well and she acted in good cooperation with Sam Waterston character...what was the matter with Roem? Not big enough boobs?
