Here is a bit of threadjacking...

What are the odds of the GOP ticket being "Dick-less" in 2004?

I would put it at 50/50 right now with a movement shifting the odds against there being any Dick at all.

Politics aside, isn't so convienent to have a political libility with a heart condition? Bush can pull out Dick at any time he sees fit.

    Then what to do?

Who would you want to run with Bush in 04?

    and

    Would it make any difference?

I think the only reason to get rid of Cheney would be for health reasons. Of course, some cynics might say that if he becomes a political liability, health reasons could be used as an excuse. But I doubt it.

But I love the idea of 'George Bush-Condalessa Rice'. Just because it would be a politically-correct liberal's biggest nightmare. Imagine the dilemma that would face liberal publications like the NY or LA Times, having to use their power to slime, smear and slander the character of an African-American female. It almost isn't fair to have to put them in that difficult position.

Oh God, I wish Bush would do it.

You obviously haven't heard all of the *#*#*#*# that has been flung into the faces of Colin Powell and Condi Rice on these boards by "enlightened" liberals.

True, the posters here don't give a fuck, but you will notice that the wrath of the likes of the L.A. times has been directed primarily at white boys, like Bush, Cheney, Runsfield and Ashcroft, among others.

Rice and Powell get some criticism, but mild by comparison. But to force them to spew all their venom against a minority would be sweet, because they will find a way to rationalize it and do it, and it would expose their hypocritical ways.

Oh no, liberals getting called hypocrites.

Colin Powell is incompetent, just like George Bush. How badly did her screw up? The entire world had our support and sympathy after 9/11. Now the US is pretty much operating on fear and loathing. Thanks for the great job, guys.

Wanna really throw liberals in a twist? Train J-Lo to lie like Rumsfeld, and make her in charge of defense. She could not do any worse job, and with the vague hope of getting a blow job from her, no liberal will question her judgment.

Depends on how good/bad the poll numbers look next July and August. Cheney right now is a liability among swing voters even though he's a massive asset among conservatives. If Bush thinks he needs to just shore up the base a bit, he'll keep him. If things are really shaky, Cheney will get dumped. Everything has to happen before the GOP gets to New York to celebrate... er, I mean, commemorate Sept 11th with their convention.

Not to spend too much time on who could replace Dick, but if they went moderate (which would be the only reason to kill off Cheney), Mitt Romney would likely be on the short list. He's a socially moderate Mormon from Michigan who ran uber-consultancy Bain & Co., saved the Salt Lake Olympics from a financial scandal, and is now getting 60%+ approval ratings as governor of Massachusetts. He's had some issues with his official residency on his tax returns, but in MA it's a worse sin to eat meat on Fridays than to avoid taxes.

Not a chance. The Press would eat her alive (why she still has a job is beyond me). Rice is a proven liar. She has contradicted herself so many times on "Meet The Press" alone Tim Russert finally had to confront her on it. There is miles of footage of her saying one thing and then contradicting it just weeks later.

Before Wilsongate she claimed on MTP: “No one in our circles knew the Uranium Niger claim was bogus”. When Russert confronted her with the fact the CIA sent memo’s to her and her cheif deputy that the Niger claim was bogus 3 months before the State of the Union and the CIA had the line removed from a speech in October 2002. Her response: "We all forgot about that".

We all forgot. Really? Does anyone with the intellegence above that of a six year old believe that for a fu¢king second?

I chatted with the woman who owned the car. She was pleased I got the reference, frustrated so many others didn't.

They could just ask why Bush is promoting her instead of firing her for her imcompetence leading up to 9/11.

I saw this one the other day and complemented the driver of the car:

"Bush - we didn't elect him and we don't have to keep him"

    Sums it up for me!
