http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/06/30/bush.kyoto.ap/index.html Good thing we are more worried about money then having a livable planet to inhabit. Although I do agree that we need all the big polluters to sign and adhere to the treaty, and I agree that reliance on Mideast Oil is a National Security issue. However I did not see any plans for making our reliance on Mideast Oil reduced. Or what will be done to reduce emissions here in the US. Perhaps less spending on a war in Iraq and more on development would be an answer.....damn I sure am a dreamer huh?
Kyoto is a very bad treaty for the US, partially negotiated to be just that. There's no real reason for Bush to sign it. The real problem is that he has no interest in signing anything similar.
DIE YOU FVCKING HIPPIE FVCKING TREE HUGGING ******** SUCKER. WHO CARES ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING, IT'LL HAPPEN 100 YEARS FROM NOW AND ALL OF US HERE WILL BE ALL DEAD ANYWAYS....GO BACK WITH THE OTHER DREAMERS WHO WANT EQUAL WOMENS' RIGHTS AND RACIAL EQUALITY!!!!!!!
Why am I a damn fool? Cause as a vet I see what waste the war in Iraq is? Oh I fully believed that there were WMD's there, and I am even willing to believe that they may even be buried somewhere or moved out of the country, but since there isn't any evidence to collaborate this then it just isn't true. I also think that removing Saddam was a positive from the war, but it is time now to get our troops home. It is time to quick wasting money in a sand trap that frankly the people there don't give a fvck if we help them or not. I also think that it is past time for the US to take a responsible stance for the environment. Besides, if the US can find ways to reduce emissions and the use of oil, it is benefical 2 ways. The first we get less pollution, and second it screws over the bastards in the middle east who gouge us for the oil.
I was at Naval Air Station Glenview for 3 years and then in the Army Reserves for 2 years. No need to yell when you post.
No, I think that putting money ahead of the planet is stupid. I think the US should come up with another better plan for reducing emissions.
Well, yeah, if Kyoto had anything to do with preventing the planet from disintegrating then you'd be right.
Al Gore was for signing it. Bush and Kerry was not. And who would have more insights on environmental issues? I think we need more subways, not more cars.
I don't think so. People aren't going to give up their cars except if they live inside a big city; and most Americans don't live in cities, they live in suburbs and more rural areas. We just need to get rid of petroleum-powered cars.
Ummm, cars are one of the most visibal social status symbols. Maybe a little car that can't fit anybody in it is anti-social. But a nice big car or SUV? Hell I fill the whole thing up with my friends and drive to Daytona!!!
