    Theo,

I guess you silly bato were right with the chat room. it is down. Who knows when it will come back on.
You are waisting time when you talk or mention control of the team on the field and control at the main office. When Baya had his talks with the GM and Shawn , the GM was "LBS", he did not impress baya at all. Actually, He lied to Baya when it came to the third asst. coach. Mr. Lopez had all the credentials and he was just pushed aside.

Once again baya told me that the team now would be less effective as before. So, if you have not yet bought your season tickets do not waste your money. They will not amount to be a team this season either. They are closer than ever to get the money line shot close for good.

They do not even have 3700 season tickets sold already. that is not even half of the MLS mandatory requirement. what do you think?

baya wanted me to ask you about John the VP where is he? Did he leave too?

People hardly ever talked about soccer on that site anyway. Mostly just geo-political comments. Only there was no moderator so it just became a lot of name calling and profanity. Almost as bad as the forums on Soccer365. However, I havn't been on Soccer365 in years so maybe they have cleaned it up.

    What exactly does "LBS" mean?

Gee, is Baya mad because Greg didn't heed his advice? I think it shows Greg Eliott's a smart man.

Sorry Jose, I understand the pain of knowing that there won't be many hispanic fans at Frisco to teach us all how to be real, passionate fans.

But the plain fact is, is that no matter how many season tickets are sold come deadlines, HSG will make sure their investment in Frisco is protected.

They will have no problem meeting any and all league requirements. Their frugal policy demands that they do whatever is necessary to protect their investment. They'll meet the minimums to keep their interests. Minimalism at its best? Maybe. But, lest you forget, their future risk is being minimized come Frisco. They'll gladly foot the bill now, so the risk can be passed later.

Oh, be sure to tell Baya that business is booming for me so far in 2004 despite his intentions to 'dry up my client base' and also that no one here gives a sheeeeet what he thinks.

    All my best,

It wont come back for long if it does come back. You better get used to life without that silly little board. The way all the MLS team websites are handled is about to change drastically.

Please keep guys like him off this board. Baya's garbage was why I moved to this board. There is nothing wrong with sharing your opinion but being 100% negative about a tem over and over just gets old.

Anyway, I checked the burn chat room and it and it just says that they are upgrading the site. I am sure the chat room will be up again soon.

So what's the scoop? What's about to happen with MLS websites?

One More Year - don't worry too much, these boards are actually moderated and posters who repeatedly break the TOS/Rules are carded and or banned. We are here to talk soccer.

LA chat is still the same old place. When they are going to change. we had registration and counters before. He always had the best numbers. We think that is why Dallas went to the last one. No way to know who is who, and no way to count the hits.

He will always bring people in for good or bad. He's my hero.

    Where is our last VP????????

What Chamo is talking about is a league wide move of all official sites to one unbrella set up under MLSnet.com. They will all be run and managed in one place.

I believe the way MLB does with their sites.

I know that these guys are not interested in re-establishing this team with the former fan base. I think that it is now not a controversial opinion to believe that HSG does not give a rip about the hispanic fan base. Of course attendance will suck. If changes are not made, of course the team will again suck. People are coming around on this reality. People see that HSG put a soccer neophyte in charge of decision making. People see that the coaching staff are all 100% Mike Jefferies left overs. People are beginning to notice the de-hispanization of the team and the shift away from a modern Latin American attacking style of soccer. Soon it will be obvious to all that HSG wish to make the Burn an English style team. They do not have enough customers to support this type of soccer and they don't give a rats dropping. They obviously want to bleach the fan base for the move to Frisco. Nice little suburban white kids only.

Oh what a puny plan! comical, comical! I can see them locking gates at their new youth soccer field complex with the hopes that they can force those kids and their families to watch the HSG Burn. Maybe John Alper can get one of those billboard outfits to wear and pass out flyers. He can get a bull horn and try to yell people not to leave but instead please go watch the Frisco Burn. Those people are not sticking around for games. They are going to be racing out of the complex in their suburbans and minivans to get washed up and go the the mall or NBA, NHL, MLB games.

Meanwhile, back in Dallas 10's of thousands of soccer fans will be searching thier cable and satellite TV channels for a good soccer game to watch.

I picture Lamar Hunt to be a character much like old man Withers' in the Simpsons. For his idea of a good time, I can see him having his driver take him to the barrios of D/FW. I can picture him having an assistant jumping out of his limo whenever he sees an ethnic pick up game and having him steal and puncture the ball.

    Thanks again HSG.

Why is the elimination of the chat room in the Burn website a strike against the hispanic fan base? I don't understand that. I used to go into that chat room a long time ago, but left because it was insane. There was very little intelligent conversation going on there. It was mainly Bayardo replying to himself. I guess a few years later, nothing much has changed.

The Burn puts every game on spanish radio, home and away, with a pre and post game show. Also, I believe they have another weekly show (pretty sure about this). There is ample opportunity for the spanish speaking fans to call in and have a forum regarding the Burn. Like Cowboy fans have with the Ticket. But english speaking Burn fans don't have that, we rely on these soccer boards. So how is it that getting rid of the chat room is anti-hispanic when they already provide Hispanics with an even better forum? It's anti english-speaking fan if anything. But everyone got tired of going on there and hearing Bayardo use as a political platform. If it was talk radio, he wouldn't even be getting past the call screen.

Theo, I'll give you that HSG has goofed up the whole Latin fan base issue. But the chat room thing cannot be tied into that.

I'm just agreeing with Jose on the goings on of HSG and this franchise. A while ago, I made a series of reasonable predictions. Evidently he is keeping track of them as they come true. I guess that the comments can seem unconnected if you didn't understand the context.

Theo - wow. I am blown away by that little rant. As Alex said: Why is the elimination of the chat room in the Burn website a strike against the hispanic fan base? I don't understand that.

I understand all your points - but in no way see the connection to the Burn Board's. Come back Theo! The board thing, well - the issues with it have nothing to do with who is posting on those boards. Really!

That chat room had pretty much three regulars Baya, Theo, and another guy (Maybe Jose). So according to Theo Baya represents the Hispanic Community. As an educated Hispanic man, let me tell you that is just not the case.

Lack of Hispanic support has nothing to due with location, players, or such. When we were in Cotton Bowl about 5000 Hispanic fans showed up which at a 68,252 capacity stadium is about 7%. So, in Frisco we need about 1400 Hispanic fans to have the same percentage. There were also plenty Hispanic players in the first few years and result were about the same. Actually in average all stats for MLS has increased each year.

It is going to take the young Latino Americans such as Nunez’s generation for Hispanic community to ever support soccer in US. There is a pride with a long tradition.

Any business would be crazy to put all their eggs in one basket specially an American soccer league when it comes to Hispanic fans.

    Chaz and Alex,
I'll give it one more attempt. If you read Jose's original post, you will see that there are many issues that Jose brings up that I am responding to. No one has said that shutting the Burn board is anti-hispanic. Furthermore, on the Burn board I previously speculated that the chat site would be shut down prior to the start of the season. (I understand that this is probably a temporary thing) and not for racial reasons. This is simply a control of PR thing. But, I suggested to some of the regulars that whenever that day came, the Big Boards site would be a place to meet. The shutting down of the Burn board, (although it is probably only temporary), and other predictable situations are things that some of us at the old site were keeping track of. You notice the point that Jose makes that I am wasting my time in offering suggestions. He is correct. I am validating the things that he has said over the last couple of months. Of course, when I reflect on all of the realities that Jose reminds me of, it makes by blood boil. And, HSG is to thank for that.

Theo - thank goodness you are back! OK, Now I am able to better understand your previous post - I somehow got the impression it was all about the Burn Boards.

Thanks for going over it one more time.

What the hell does that mean? Have you read his previous post?

Just part of it says: "Of course attendance will suck. If changes are not made, of course the team will again suck. Nice little suburban white kids only."

And you thank God that this guy is back on a Dallas Burn chat room. Where else could someone like him get away with such a negative not to mention racial coments? Do you think a true Hispanic player wants to be picked because he is Hispanic or that he will bring Hispanic fans to theg ame? No, he wants to be brought in because he is a good player and race has and should have nothing to do with it. Again, two years ago we were in Cotton Bowl and we had Hispanic players and where were the " 10's of thousands of soccer fans"?
Give me a break. He was talking same garbage on the Burn chat room and nothing has changed. Now instead of Baya and Jose buying his crap is Alex and Chaz and don't use the Newbie argument, please!

As long as there are some nice little suburban white GIRLS, I am okay with this.

    New Dallas motto?

Dallas Burn - Se Habla Ingles.
