    Rematch of the home opener.

What then looked like 2 teams who were strong favorites to go far in 2003. What now looks like 2 teams that might be struggling to make the playoffs, although LA's problem seems to be scoring and Dallas' has been defense.....

    Discuss....

    Good news:
    Pareja may play!

    Bad news:
Jeff Bradley has picked us to win again, :

    Here's an idea

Guard against the long pass please. Seems like alot of goals on us this year have gone over the heads of the back line.

Hopefully Ruiz will fall and hurt something on the plastic turf.

Oscar told me he'll be back for this game.

I mentioned not playing the full 90 and he replied, with his hand over his heart - "My heart wants to".

While the win column needs him back at a full 90, none of us wants him to come back too quickly and complicate his recovery.

I'm also hoping he doesn't come back to a ravenous Galaxy side.

They want a big win bad.

Hard C has got the Burn getting spanked:

    http://www.mlsnet.com/content/03/oped0514connolly.html

    Ouch.

Huh. So far Bradley has predicted Dallas to win 3-2. Connolly losing 3-1.

I'm not sure I can see either Dallas or LA scoring that much.

I don't know of any LA injury issues.

Does anyone know if EJ is going to be ready? Maybe Cerritos will get the start and pick up where he left off last season.

gals have been struggling in the midfield without cien & vagenas...they tried moving Bo up to Dmid last week and failed horribly...but they DO need a road win...so...

Remember when El Lay beat the Burn 8-1? I hope it won't be as bad this time around.

I'm not the only fan in the world that's noticed that when a player comes back off an injury completely healthy - he might just re-live that "just arrived" luck.

It really is uncanny how it happens. A player that's just traded and plays his first game or two for the new club... and he's carries the team.

Now this may not originally have happened with Ronald when he came over to the Burn (I can't recall his contributions for the first couple of 90's for the Burn), but it could happen now.

I said hello to him after the KC game and he seems really upbeat and glad to be playing again.

Hey, maybe he's just what we need right now (especially if EJ has a nagging injury).

This is how the team needs to play against LA IMO:

    _______________DJ_________________
    _____Bonseu___Suarez___Broome_____
    _________Deering___Stone___________
    ____Vaca______Davis_______Chivas___
    _______EJ/Cerritos_____Kreis_________

I would rather switch Suarez and Bonseu positions and start Cerritos. Davis needs to be active in the middle and exposed LA's midfield.
Good. But I doubt he'll play the full 90 right away from his injury. I expect him to come of the bench IMHO.
    Crap. Stop jinxing us Jeff!

Aside from not having a midfield, the Galaxy have forgotten to bring passion and intensity to all five games thus far. If the Galaxy team that has shown up for the previous 5 makes an appearance, put all 10 Burn field players on Ruiz and spread out orange cones to take care of the rest of the lineup.

I think Hartman, against us anyway, has some of the most beautiful saves I've ever seen. He does everything but stand on his head to stop Dallas goals. Something about playing here brings out the best in him.

NO EJ! At least no starting him, he's not been a good starter this year. lets do a....

    ---------------------D.J.-------------------------
    --Suarez----T-Bone------Morrow------Broome-----
    Vaca-----Davis-------Deering------Martinez-------
    ---------Cerritos-----------Kreis------------------

Sub Pareja for Davis around the 60 min mark along with EJ(or Rhine) for Cerritos and maybe Stone for Deering (???).

my prediction: Half time it's 1-1 and then with the second half subs and Suarez and T-Bone comfortable again we get 2 more goals and win 3-1 :D

Almost the same as i was thinking, except I had Stone in for Morrow(Trying to be more offensive at home).

I know were never expected to be on the top of the league but at least we have always been a hard team to play at home. This year we look to defensive and I feel we need to attack LA from the start.

All I gotta say is if you control the midfield, you'll have us beat and the way LA's midfield has been, I see Hartman in for a workout.

If Morrow has anything near the kind of game he had last week, Ruiz will be an aquarium around him.

I look for Morrow to have a steady fish diet all day.

Unfortunately the only thing I can predict for this game besides a tie is that it will be worst attended Burn game of the season.

The Byron Nelson going during the day with the madness that is the pavillion after the golf is done plus the Mavs-Kings game 7 playing at the exact same time as the Burn game will attract all of the attention of the DFW sports fans, even the ones with kids. Talk about a night in which the blue collar latinos will be missed. They probably would have been the only ones to show up.

I was offered tix to the Mavs game and I had to think long and hard before I passed on them. The Red and Black better do something tonight.

Couldn't go, saw 2nd half on Shootout.
    Good:
    1. Oscar's back
    2. D.J. saved their butts
    3. Davis' shot

    $ucked:
    1. E.J.
    2. Ref
    3. Result
    4. The Dragon on T.V.
    5. Defense, D.J. shouldn't have to save their butts.
