Looking forward to reading the match report.

Nice to see Toni backing up the trust given to him by Burn management. Still not scoring the goals, but creating the chances. I'm sure goals will eventually follow.

Not to dampen the festive mood or whatever, but the tie does mean Dallas finished dead last in the group and will be out of the playoffs.

I don't know much about Kiev's starters or if they played their top line guys. They did enter the Dallas game knowing that they only needed to lose by less than 3 to win the group.

Good point regardless. Not certain any tag lines need to be changed just yet.

I would say something rude, but you're a Whiz fan. Which means you're doomed to another season Gansler's bunker ball, this time without Preki and your Russian goal-scoring machine (and Wolff will probably join them soon). So I pity you. How does it feel to go from contender in the Western division to fighting for a very playoff spot in one week?

Obviously, we would all have loved for the team to win the thing, but is this about winning, or is it about developing Clarke's team?

And we don't have everyone healthy, and we don't have our midfielder (although at this pace, we might not have him by opening day...!), and we don't have Cory, and yet we are finding out that some of these kids can play, and some of them are getting on the same page - and apparently Toni is doing well, which speaks well of this upcoming season.

From what I've read, it sounds like Davis, O'Brien, Toni (quite a relief, btw), Garlick, Jolley and possibly Quill are getting close to being ready to go. Getting Cory back will help emensely. That is seven. Add in Jason - who from all accounts should be ready to go full speed come Opening Day - and you have eight of eleven starting positions ready to go.

Hopefully one of those positions, d-mid, will be resolved as well. (I will worry greatly if we go into the season with Stone at d-mid...)

And it appears that Salyer is probably good to go, but we will have to see if he is a permanent solution there or just temporary until Talley can take it from him.

As for left full - uhm.... I know we've got SOME time, but we are less than 35 days from the season beginning, and Chris has some healing to do....

But to judge the team on La Magna? I wouldn't worry about that much, if at all.

Just so we are clear on this subject, Salyer and I are the kings of horseshoes. We'll kick your ass.

well, you guys should do a lot better in the next round of games at La Manga (albeit in the losers bracket) because you will finally be getting Gibbs in. that should help the defense greatly. the Burn have been giving up quite a bit of goals (8 i believe between the 2 group games and the Quakes game). I wish the team well, because although a die hard DCU fan, the Burn are my favorite team out West.
