It was however on the radio - I may have wanted to listen to it without knowing the score 1st!!!!!!! (assuming I recorded the broadcast):D

It's deja vu all over again.

The Burn are in last place on goal differential.

    glass half empty...

In the 10th minute, I said to Chamo "we don't look like scoring tonight."
And after Kreis and Davis both botched golden chances in the first half,
we never really threatened. Mediocre, pathetic Route One. Are we
atrocious like last year? No. Do GE and CC deserve credit for
restoring some degree of pride? Absolutley. But if anyone can explain
the rationale for our tactics in the last 30 minutes, i'll buy you a beer.

    glass half full....
the smurfs blew a golden chance at home against the Gals to bury
    us on the table.

The one bright spot, I guess, is that the Burn still control their destiny.

If they win their final 3 games, Dallas will make the playoffs.

    I Have
And I will flap my arms and fly to the Moon. As much as I love my team, I have to admit they can't win when they need to, or pretty much any other time.

That is one BIG if. We've got New England next week- a team we basically handed three points to on a platter back in August, Los Angeles- a team we beat last week who is out for revenge the week after that, and then San Jose- the band of smurfs wanting history to repeat itself as the last home game.

We can't just come off of wins on autopilot- its what we tend to do and it explains for the every other week pattern we got into after the all-star game. The only reason we broke it is cuz after the loss to Colorado, the boys figured, "Ooh- well we're gonna win in DC next week so its okay." We're gonna have to really get down to it and focus if we're gonna squeeze into that fourth spot.

But all the teams we have to play are struggling like us....

I can't believe I'm still optomistic after the past 2 years...

    A true Burn fan. :)

    My half-full, half-empty take?

Half-full - we simply didn't have the guns. No Ronnie hurt - a lot. And I think the Kries move was a tactical mistake on Colin's part - one he can fix in the next game.

Half-empty? The play of Bobby (Rhine), Brad (Davis - sorry TA and MTA) and Jason was reminiscent of Southlake - no desire whatsoever.

It isn't over - but that could have afforded us a LOT of breathing room. Now we just have to do it on the road. San Jose is not going to win out.

I believe that placement this season is based on head to head and not goal differential. What's your record vs the Quakes?

Quakes lead 2 wins to 1 win. Even if we beat them in the last game of the season, we'll still only be even.

So it would then go to goal differential, and well...

Bottom line is that we have to finish one point ahead of San Jose.
