Bundesliga 2025/26 - Is there a league after Lohmann?

Senß moving to Real Madrid continues the trend of them having German wnt mid-fielders.

However... this also has me interested to see who Bayern get now, as Senß was meant to be one of their transfer targets if a deal for Nüsken couldn't be made...

Fløe joining Wolfsburg is another confusing decision from a club that's made quite a few strange decisions in recent years. Hoffmann, and Fløe, basically the same player....
So who's on the bench?

Plus the biggest problem for Wolfsburg is honestly Kellermann's last two choices of head coach. No matter who they recruit to join their squad post Kellermann, his choice for Lerch to lead this team will still result in mediocre performances, and poor results...

When Union Berlin have finished their transfers, I will look at their team and judge what they could legitimately accomplish next season.

Right now... it feeling like Union Berlin, and Bayer Leverkusen, have their eyes firmly set on taking over Frankfurt's hold over 3rd place.

 

We are seeing this happen more and more now in women's football... young talents moving abroad too early without a clear path to first team football...

Hoffenheim might have just found themselves an adequate replacement for Cerci, who can potentially develop into a player who will be back on the radars of stronger teams again.

But seeing more UWCL clubs hoarding young talent with no interest in these various players ever joining the first team continues to be such a waste.

Wolfsburg signed Pajor as a 16yo, seeing her spend one full season in the B-Team, before eventually stepping into the first team to have a fantastic career.

But now... UWCL powers just buy random potential on pure hype, without any plan to further develop and intergrate these talents into their first team...

As much as I want to see Wrede join Bayern, forming a powerful mid-field that can help German club football have one club challenge in Europe, if HSV offer a new contract I think she'd be wise to accept it now lol.

The same for a 19yo Baum too... reports connecting her to UWCL teams like Barcelona, and Arsenal, honestly the worst thing that could probably happen to her now on the back of her break out first season in the 1.Bundesliga.

I respect the ambition of young players, but it feels like these bigger clubs are just frivolously exploiting the low financial risks associated to the recruitment of young female talent.

In men's football, the conveyor belt of young talent being exploited by the games giants, justified by huge sums of money that will move between agents, clubs, and the actual playing talent.

 

Cecilie Floe a record transfer for the Bundesliga, surpassing previously top, Oberdorf from WOB to BM. But to be honest, I don’t know really much about Floe. Stats show that she was the Italian league’s 3rd leading scorer for the season, but then I don’t take that league seriously at all. Last season, Chiemilski made the first, all-star team, yet proven very average upon returning back to the Bundesliga. Billionaire Michelle Kang makes the Italian league her own little playground anytime she’s in the hunt for players

Probably this Floe if playing at #9 will be good enough to score since WOB’s usual game plan that the ball eventually leads to your central striker.

I might have been wrong last season’s about last year’s forcast but feel pessimistic again that foreigners will dominate next season in the goal scoring department, especially now that Cerci, Anyomi Popp, Endemann are leaving. Even this last season saw an more majority foreign mercs at the #9 spot & will now only get worse

 

Looks like former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger joined Dortmund as well. Maybe we need to stop watching Bundi 1 in favor of Regional/div 3 instead!

 

I'm seeing some really dumb decisions being made within elite women's football right now...

At a time Men's football is trying to put the genie back in the bottle to regain control of finances, and I'm seeing women's football behaving with peak recklessness.

The commercial growth potential of women's football clearly starting to plateau, but I keep reading nonsense about gender solidarity justifying the female side of the sports continued failed waste of money...

Poor infrastructure, bad buisness practices, and the idea men somehow obligated to support everything based on societal pressure is madness.

UEFA and FIFA infiltrated by people who continue to push through bad ideas based on insanely flawed logic, and I fear these same people will also be overseeing Germany's new female break away league...

Seriously... remove Potsdam, and Essen's player development from the history of German women's club football, and I'm convinced Germany's wnt would not have survived the past decade of the DFB's internal self sabotage.

But what is women's club football in Germany replacing these women's only clubs with now...? And why are leaders of women's football in Germany only talking about more money, and not mentioning anything about improving the player pathways?

Learn from the errors of the WSL... do not repeat them.

 

Bayern announces the signing of FB, Sarah Mattner, so I guess can sit on the bench or take turns on the field with the likes of Gwinn, Kett, Naschwang /Simon? What the heck, buy Lohmann too so there can be competition for best benchwarmer!

 

New signee; Sophie Nachtigall goes to FC Koln by way of Freiburg . She played last time on the u23’s, but felt she was a bit slow in the #9 position she playing at

of course I'll always do my daily check up on Big Soccer, where else can I found such entertaining reading as Batfink's 'alternative universe' as what's really go on. Or how bout em Nutty-shiko fans? Where else ur going to find em? Just wish they wouldn't disapear when they once again got their butts kicked(which seems to happen a lot lately)
