Blackstenius left. Cerci right. These heat maps showing how and where these two forwards move on the field. As you can see, Cerci simply has to be more involved in her teams play, but both still needing to do more than someone like Shaw. Shaw's heat map... Put Cerci in a stronger team she doesn't need to do as much work, focusing more on remaining centrally to finish chances, she's going to genertae even more goals. Right now Cerci actually very similar to Pajor in many aspects of her game; and it's why I always thought she'd make a perfect striker for Wolfsburg. But without Cerci being able to lead the attack of a championship level club, her potential as an elite #9 is being increasingly diminished.
Nürnberg - Essen 3:0(1:0) Proniez(1), Lein(65), Seguin(79) 11.Nürnberg 22 32-58 12.Hamburger SV 18 25-54 Köln(A), Bayern (H) 13.Essen 15 21-62 Freiburg (H) Essen has to catch up 3 points and 12 goals.
Sad: I remember when Kozue Ando was playing for Essen and I had met German supporters, when I was in Faro for the Algarve Cup 2012, who were surprised that I had recognized their Essen's jerseys! Back then, SGS Essen was some sort of high-level club in Frauen-Bundesliga...
They are in Bundesliga since 2004 and so many great players had been part of their team. 7 players that are now active in Germany's national team: Nicole Anyomi Linda Dallmann Vivien Endemann Lena Oberdorf Lea Schüller Elisa Senß Carlotta Wamser We could add Sophia Winkler if she wasn't injured. Other former players like Ando, Bresonik, Doorsoun, Groenen, Hegering, M.Hoffmann, Islacker, Janssen, T.Knaak, Nardenbach, Thompson, Timko, Zurrer etc.
Essen was close to relegation but the decision is postponed to next week. Köln - Hamburger SV 2:1(1:0) Andrade(30), Zeller(90+7) - Böhler(83) 12.Hamburger SV 18 26-56 Bayern (H) 13.Essen 15 21-62 Freiburg (H)
Freiburg - Wolfsburg 2:4(1:2) Vobian(5), Bienz(63) - Küver(33), Lattwein(45+4), Linder(61), Peddemors(76) Bayern - Frankfurt 2:0(1:0) Caruso(12), Harder(47)
2.Bundesliga Bayern II - Meppen 1:0 Meppen out of promotion fight - Bayern II keep their chances to stay in 2.Bundesliga Other games start in 1 hour. Stuttgart will be promoted if they beat Wolfsburg II (or Sand get less points in Andernach or Mainz don't beat Ingolstadt). 1.Stuttgart 54 75-30 2.Sand 51 50-23 3.Mainz 49 67-29 . . 9.Potsdam 30 37-45 10.Mönchengladbach 28 31-47 11.Frankfurt II 27 33-37 12.Bayern II 27 39-61
HT Stuttgart - Wolfsburg II 3:1 Andernach - Sand 0:0 Mainz - Ingolstadt 3:0 In relegation fight it looks bad for Bayern II Bochum - Mönchengladbach 0:2 Frankfurt II - Potsdam 1:0
FT Stuttgart - Wolfsburg II 4:1 Andernach - Sand 1:1 Mainz - Ingolstadt 5:0 1.Stuttgart 57 79-31 2.Mainz 52 72-29 3.Sand 52 51-24 Last matchday Sand - Stuttgart Warbeyen - Mainz Warbeyen have lost their last 8 matches, Mainz won their last 7 matches so I guess we have a clear favourite for the the second promotion place. Bochum - Mönchengladbach 1:4 Frankfurt II - Potsdam 3:0 10. Frankfurt II 30 36-37 11.Potsdam 30 37-48 12.Bayern II 27 39-61 Bayern II 3 points and 11 goals behind Potsdam - we should lose another second team in 2.Bundesliga but Hoffenheim II is in a good position to be promoted in Regionalliga Süd.
LOL... Mühlhaus scored 4 goals in her final appearance for Werder Bremen... I have no idea how Arnautis plans to use Mühlhaus in a team that already contains Freigang... but I feel like his change to a 4-4-2 might hint towards their new identity next season. ---------- Mühlhaus ---- Anyomi ------------ Memeti ------------------------------- Blomqvist ----------- Friegang --- I.Acikgöz ------------- OR Memeti ----- Anyomi ------ Blomqvist -------- Freigang ---- Mühlhaus --------- ------------------ I.Acikgöz ------------------ Frankfurt will have to find a new system to accommodate Mühlhaus... just on shot attempts, she's clearly a more potent goal threat than Friegang; which should mean Freigang's role changes too.
Bremen - Jena 7:0(4:0) Mühlhaus(2,22,90+7), Hausicke(8), Schmidt(41), Sternad(50), Ernst(74) Union Berlin - Hoffenheim 0:2(0:2) Janssens(3), van Dijk(9) Cerci, Harder and Mühlhaus all with 16 goals this season. 2.Bundesliga Bayern II - Meppen 1:0 Andernach - Sand 1:1 Viktoria Berlin - Warbeyen 3:0 Bochum - Mönchengladbach 1:4 Frankfurt II - Potsdam 3:0 Mainz - Ingolstadt 5:0 Stuttgart - Wolfsburg II 4:1 1.Stuttgart 57 79-31 2.Mainz 52 72-29 3.Sand 52 51-24 4.Meppen 46 54-25 5.Viktoria Berlin 42 39-20 6.Andernach 35 41-40 7.Ingolstadt 35 42-47 8.Bochum 32 32-38 9.Mönchengladbach 31 35-48 10.Frankfurt II 30 36-37 11.Potsdam 30 37-48 12.Bayern II 27 39-61 13.Wolfsburg II 19 37-73 14.Warbeyen 6 21-94 Hertha won 5:0 against Erfurt and is Champion of Regionalliga Nordost. In Play-offs they meet Saarbrücken. Holstein Kiel won 6:1 against Hannover 96 and are Champion of Regionalliga Nord. In Play-offs they meet Champion of Regionalliga West ( 1.Köln II 59 2. Dortmund 57).
For the final round of the season, HSV are at home to Bayern, while Essen are at home to Freiburg. But 3 points apart, Essen are surely relegated with the -9 goal differential. And should BVB fail to get promoted for the Regional league this season... it's going to be a pretty pathetic end to Popp's career...
Essen being relegated the same season a proposed break away league is meant to happen, feels really significant... maybe even more significant than Potsdam being relegated. Potsdam the last premier women's only club, producing a significantly more impressive history of success than Essen ever could... Essen were the women's only club to function like an elite DFB developmental academy. Potsdam eventually replaced by Wolfsburg in this league... I don't see who replaces what Essen provided for so for many talented inexperienced players, and elite youth prospects. Maybe this education for young talent will become spread around the league better, instead of focused within one particular club. But when you look at the list of talent that came through Essen, it's legit impressive, and slightly concerning, to think what happens next. Just knowing 7 (potentially 8) current senior wnt players, all made their 1.Bundesliga debuts with Essen, wow... The peak moment for Essen's history in talent development was surely taking Wolfsburg to PK's in the cup final, after impressively forcing a 3-3 draw vs a domestic and European power, in a game they would honestly feel unlucky to lose. But I doubt it's also a coincidence the moment long time coach Markus Högner would leave for BVB's project, Essen's exit from the top division almost instantly followed. 2025's top 3 Fritz-Walter award winners would all feature for their clubs this season. But without the loan system becoming more normalized, it's hard to imagine the elite clubs who aggregate the top youth prospects, will have enough room or the opportunities for them to play regular football.
Eintracht Frankfurt verstärkt sich zur kommenden Saison mit Paulina Krumbiegel. Die 25-jährige Außenbahnspielerin unterschreibt einen Vertrag bis zum 30. Juni 2029.Gude, Paulina! ❤️🗞️ Hier lesen: https://t.co/mFm9KJxnHF#SGE pic.twitter.com/utrb9zVJSv— Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen (@EintrachtFrauen) May 11, 2026
Krumbiegel comes back to Germany as a Frankfurt player... and I might be wrong about this, but I don't think she's come back to be utilised in a FB role... Frankfurt losing a lot of their best young talent over the years, are now in a position recruitment of a new core vital to the hopes of them remaining part of the top 3 race. Krumbiegel unable to establish herself at Hoffenheim, then unable to do the same at Juve, has somehow managed to return to another UWCL team. But does Krumbiegel who's shown glimpses at rral quality, join Frankfurt as a core member to help keep the chasing pack from passing them, or is she just a squad player who eventually ends up leaving for a another team...?
Next seasons Union Berlin women's team head coach Marie-Louise Eta becomes the first female coach to win a game in Europe’s top 5 men’s leagues. She led Union Berlin's men to a 3-1 win over Mainz.
Lea Schüller spending time on the field celebrating with Bayern is kind of ridiculous lol... but she did produce 5 goals in her 10 Bundesliga games; meaning she did play a some part in their latest title success...
Foreign Watch... Nüsken would be part of every minute for Chelsea in their ET 2-3 Cup semi final defeat to Man City. Knaak didn't feature in Man City's semi final cup win, but we did get a 99 min introduction of Lohmann.. Brand played in all 90 mins of Lyon's 1-4 Cup Final victory over PSG. In this game Brand also assisted 2 goals like a winger from open play crosses... (FINALLY..) Kössler saw 82mins of her teams 1-4 victory. She didn't score... but I'm more confused why someome with such a high ability to produce key passes, hasn't been assisting at all in America...
